  • I couldn't be more pleased with this projector!
I have had several 1080p projectors, and I have a HDMI device that splits out the audio, then sends the video to my projector. I didn't realize that this device only handles 1080p. However, when I connected this projector I was blown away at how crisp, beautiful, and bright the screen was. The colors were so much more vibrant, and I was well pleased. I was amazed at how much better this picture looked over my previous projector (thinking I was looking at a 4k projection). 2 Days later, I realized it was only projecting 1080p. I removed my splitter device, and WOW! The 4k picture was literally stunning! I could not be more satisfied with this projector! ... show more

  • Bright and Crisp
I love the Key Stone on this projector. Ok, that sounds like a strange thing to start with, but have you ever wanted to try to project on a curved screen? Ya, like I said a strange want... It's very cool!!! Now on to the things you want to hear... It is a very bright projector, and it has a very crisp image. Yes, it works well for 3D using Blue-Ray. Streaming 3D is hit or miss (I'm not sure that is the fault of the projector). I find the colors to look good and HDR10 seems fine. For the price point this can not be beat. I have no review on the auto keystone, I’ve never tried it. Lol ... show more

  • Solid 4K HDR Projector for the $$
When I first hooked up this projector using my existing HDMI cable it looked bad, worse than my 7 yr old projector. I ordered a new 4K HDMI cable and laboriously ran a new 30 ft line to my receiver and lo and behold it was everything I had hoped it could be. Super sharp/crisp/good color saturation and the fan runs quiet. I'm still working out some kinks on the keystone, I docked it 1 star as it's not the most intuitive to adjust to fine tune the corners. I'm using a 165" elite screen at about 14 ft distance hooked up to an AppleTV 4k, overall this projector is really nice, especially for $1k and look forward to watching more movies/sports in 4K. ... show more

  • Best Bang For Your Buck - Quality and Cost
I have to say I am thoroughly impressed. Pretty much a WOW experience from the second I turned it on. Bright and vivid colors, even in a lit room. 4000 lumens in 4k is pretty hard to beat at this price point. Believe me when I say that you get way more than you pay for with the PX748-4K. I had an Epson home cinema and this blows anything out of the water in the $2k and under category. Don’t hesitate to buy if you are looking. My Xbox looks amazing and on screen play is smooth with low latency enabled on the projector. I bought a tv tuner box and this thing is amazing for watching any sports game on the big screen. I project onto a 110” screen and have a semi lit basement unless it’s night time. Beautiful picture night or day! ... show more

  • Used - Like New purchase. There was one main problem. Some other tradeoffs of quality too
I got this Used - Like New (sold through Viewsonic themselves), but after only about 1,700 hours, the bulb started to go out. So I called Viewsonic and they said that with only a 90 days warranty they can't cover anything, but I could buy a new bulb at their price of $150.00. To me, that resulting limited bulb time indicates the bulb was around maybe half way used already, so LIKE NEW doesn't really come across too well in the use I got out of it. Not the end of the world though, as you can't expect full NEW warranty for used price. So, just be aware that you may buy it Used-LIKE NEW but you'll get a minimal warranty and probably also an already pretty well used bulb by a significant amount of time. I was able to find a new bulb for a fraction of the cost and it's back up and running solid, so at least I didn't have to sink $150 into Viewsonic again for already cutting my experience pretty short. What I do love about the projector though is it's very crisp and bright. Beautiful colors and sharp picture at 4K (I highly recommend you checking it out with 4K content to see it's true ability because it's truly stunning for a projector in this price range). Contrast is pretty good, but as you can expect with this projector type, blacks are dark grey and don't contrast too highly, but you may not really notice, as I am also often stunned at how it looks with the right content, when you don't pay attention to the dark areas...it's a little rough at time with very dark scenes, but not a deal breaker. I have had another Viewsonic 1080p projector for about 10 years and have always loved it, and got that at a great deal NEW (also on Amazon). It has really done a great job for thousands of hours of movie time and games, and productivity that I've used it for, and it is also a beautiful picture even though only 1080p and 60hz. I used it recently when this projector bulb went out and I needed a backup with that 1080p one, and I was still impressed with it. It's a model PJ7820HD and has 3000 lumens, whereas this 4k model has 4000 lumens. There's a noticeable difference with the lumen increase, but 3000 is still great when using in dark or fairly darkened out room. So Viewsonic has been a good, all around company for the 2 projectors now that I've bought through them, just the main hitches being the short bulb life and 90 day basic warranty on this 4k one as well as the following that exists along with my details on resolution and refresh rates offered with it: For resolution and refresh rate: It can only do 4k at 60hz. Or otherwise, to go to higher refresh rates, you have to drop resolution down to 1080p so you can get 120hz or 240hz. I do wish though that they would have implemented/offered at least up to a 1440p resolution at 120hz, but again, 1080p max resolution for up to 120hz or 240hz is what Viewsonic has given this projector to be capable of. 1440p seems should have been doable, so I don't know why they limited that refresh. 60hz at 4k is pretty great overall, but when you game like I do, it's 120hz and up that really shines through for smooth gaming experience at 1440p and up. Movies can even looks quite a bit more smooth if at 120hz or higher, and I do like that effect. Some people don't though (as some compare it to a "soap opera effect" like motion smoothing, when it's much smoother overall, but at higher refresh rate, doesn't have a smeary smoothing affect, so I like it on TVs at least. Not too solid on this projector though). Also, the projector display just doesn't look as good when switched to 1080p for the 120hz or 240hz either, so I've rarely played at that lower resolution just to get the higher refresh rates. HDR seems to stop working, and the colors seem very washed out and low contrast for that. It just doesn't look good and I can't figure out how to make it look and bright and contrast-y and it is when it's at 4k/60hz. Maybe it's messing with color settings and all that do get it to look right, but it automatically goes washed out and feels like HDR doesn't work right when switching to anything above 60hz refresh at 1080p. It's an unfortunate tradeoff, and left me pretty disappointed in the projector for that use case of trying to get any higher refresh and actually enjoy it. Overall, I do recommend this projector, but probably would say when on a sale, so you can feel like you get your money's worth. The tradeoffs I mentioned may make you change your mind if you're picky like me. At least I guess getting it at nearly half price by buying Used "Like New" instead of new makes me feel better about having the downsides. ... show more

  • Pretty freaking awesome.
I've had projectors for over 15 years. The family loves having a movie room. My last one was an Optoma DLP 1080p projector. It was awesome (and still works fine even after 7500 hours on the same bulb). But man... this thing is on a whole different level for clarity and brightness. Everybody in the family notices the difference. Setup is easy. very flexible on mounting solutions too. The only downside is I wish the backs were blacker. But, I have not spent a ton of time messing with the settings -- even after having it for a couple of months. But... 5 stars out of 5 stars. Would 100% buy again. ... show more
