Not all of my old single pane windows have been replaced yet, and the few that still exist upstairs are hot to the touch and draw the heat inside during the warmer months. They also fade anything in front of them. I still want to be able to let light in without the heat. This reflective privacy window adhesive screen is the best solution if you can’t replace an old window. I recommend getting one to fit the width of your window. You can always trim off excess length, but trying to line up 2 strips to make a perfect seam to fit the width of a window is much harder. Luckily this privacy film fit the width of my heat attracting window. Once wet, it was easy to adhere to the top corners of the cleaned window and smooth all the way down to the sill. Then trim excess with box cutter or scissors. Now the heat is reflected back to the yard instead of inside the house. No one can see inside. The covering looks like a mirror to the outside world, but my cats can still sit in the window, see outside and watch nature. The inside window ledge is no longer scorching hot, nor is the glass. I can even place a chair by the window again without fear it will fade. Harmony has been restored for all! So pleased with this product! I actually feel like I got a new window! ... show more

I installed this tint on an exterior door to get some privacy without losing the view. The instructions are okay at best, but really not great. The indication of which side should go where is also completely unclear. The tint has a protective? clear film on one side, which does not serve a clear purpose other than to frustrate you during installation. Once installed, I noticed that there was a good reflective mirror look, however it was on the inside while the lights were on inside. When I went outside, I could see inside through the film. So I removed the film and painstakingly installed another piece the opposite way, and had the same exact result. I'm not really sure how it's supposed to work and I've essentially wasted all of the film trying to figure out how to get it to work properly, so I have given up on this product and ordered another from a different brand to see if I get any different result. ... show more

We have a standard sized slider with noisy back neighbors who make my teens feel like they can’t be comfortable in their own dinning room or kitchen. This would be AMAZING if it included enough to do at least a single window. You will need 3 rolls just to do a single slider window (both sides), this one roll did just our small kitchen window. This one way window film does its job well. I wanted more privacy through my back sliding doors and this was perfect. Installing it was very easy, it sticks on well and the bubbles were easily flattened. I had enough film on one roll to cover both doors. It's not 100% blacked out so you can still see inside if you get really close to the window but farther away, it's harder to make out what's inside. It's reflective from the outside so it's like a mirror. It has held up well so far and does what is intended to, no complaints here. ... show more

    • Good privacy, ineffective for heat reduction

This film does a good job at providing privacy, especially in the daytime. And you can still see out clearly, it just gives the view a blue tint. At night-time, the privacy is significantly reduced (as noted in the listing and directions) but there is still some hampering of the view. But the primary reason I tried this was for UV/heat reduction. And I have not found it to be effective at all in that regard. I measured the temperature at the window during peak sun and compared that to another window getting the same sunlight and there was less a degree of difference between them. So that's frustrating. But if what you want is privacy film and you aren't trying to reflect heat back, then this is a good choice. ... show more

Do you have a window in an area that people can easily look into? Do you have a window in an area that is inaccessible and blinds you during different parts of the day? Do you just like it a little darker? If so, this is the product for you. It is pretty simple to apply. Just use soapy water and measure correctly. It is easy to adjust once applied until it dries. Make sure that you do your prep work on the glass before hand or you will obtain less than desirable results. ... show more

Installed film in all bottom windows and my husband went out at dark to see if they worked and he could see straight through. I’m going to stick with the privacy film like you see at the top.
