This film worked as expected and easy to handle. Like the fact it doesn't wrinkle as fast when last minute sliding or squeeing soap off. Feels thick enough . I used it to tint my house window to block the sun from heating up the room and as soon as I installed I felt the difference.

This window tinting is quite nice, it has a nice dark and reflective sheen. Perfect for what I needed. I have done many tinting jobs, this material is not too hard to work with if you have experience. One hint for separating the protective layer of film from the actual tinting layer, is to use 2 pieces of scotch tape, one on either side, and pull the pieces of tape away from each other. I HOPE THIS SAVES SOMEONE ELSE FROM MAKING THE SAME MISTAKE! I ordered the BDF NA05 Window Film Daytime Privacy and Sun Control Black (Very Dark) in Oct of 2022, but was too nervous to attempt it. WELL, there is a video on their website that is amazing! This is so easy to do, I did it by myself on 36x28 windows while my husband was at work! JUST TAKE YOUR TIME and follow the video. Mistake 1: did not read what was included, ordered a window tinting kit --- did not need it, they included ALL of the tools you need, except the spray bottle. Mistake 2: AGAIN, I did not read all of the instructions, and ordered the NA05 --- I have double-paned windows! This is not for double-paned windows - apparently, it traps the heat, or something, between the glass and can break the glass! OPPS! See photos! No, my panes did not break, but you can see the temp difference! Mistake 3: Order 36x100 ft (because I want to do my entire house) of the S05 Mirrored style for double-paned windows. The numbers are similar, NA05, S05 - I thought it was the same color tint! I was worried about ordering the darker ones, I did not want darker windows, I LOVED the shade we had! THIS IS NOT THE CASE! The S05 is significantly lighter than the NA05. I am so bummed over this! I invested $250.00 and I am just not thrilled with the results! So overall - the product is super easy to install, and great quality - so much so I ordered $200 more - HOWEVER, the product number is misleading. YES, a "table" illustrates the shades, but the S03 appears extremely darker than what we had! The S03 would have matched the NA05. So my results - not very happy, just ehhh! Do I recommend it? I guess so, but I recommend getting a tester sheet before infesting a total of almost $300! NO, you could not tell it was going to be lighter before I cut it, this is MIRRORED! ... show more

This film works great!! We have to abide by HOA guidelines, and a few other products we tried all had a "mirrored' effect from the outside, which was a no go according to the HOA. This film does not have a shine from the outside, and blocks out the direct sun very well from the inside, and still gives plenty of visibility looking out. My bedroom is on the second floor and the large double window faces the rising sun; it gets unbearably hot unless I close the curtains. I used this one way film to tone down the light and heat without having the curtains drawn all day and still being able to see. There’s a little learning curve to working with this film, I did it solo but it would definitely be easier with two people. As long as you cut it slightly larger than each window and keep the window wet with soapy water you can reposition the film easily. The upper part of my windows were challenging with the curve, I just started from the bottom, flat part and worked my way up. I give myself a 90/100 on my first try. I didn’t cut the edges perfectly, there are a couple slight gaps of less than 1mm, but nothing that’s gonna make me buy more to try again. It’s only visible in the contrasting light, and doesn’t actually cast sunlight inside, it just doesn’t look the most professional. My fault completely and the error doesn’t detract from my rating of this product. The two photos with this review were taken at the same time of day, from the inside daylight is easily visible (but no blaring heat). From the outside you can’t see inside at all except for the very faint outline of the ceiling fan light which I left on. You still have to close your curtains at night for total privacy, but that doesn’t matter to me. The film came with a razor and a flat tool to smooth the bubbles, they worked fine. Prying the protective clear film off was by far the most difficult part, you definitely want to use the method mentioned in the directions of putting one piece of tape on each side and pulling in opposite directions. The first time it took me 10 minutes to open the first piece. Once I got the technique down it only took seconds. I’m very pleased with this one way mirror film, I’ll probably buy more to do the large window downstairs on the same side of the house. ... show more
