  • Excellent bed, but backwards instructions!
Color: Light Brown Size: Full
Ok, so let me just start by saying this bed is a GREAT value for the price. It’s super sturdy and looks very nice. I purchased the FULL SIZE, 14” height. Now - here’s the scoop: I’m a 63-YO female with a fairly high capability level for heavy-duty projects. This assembly project took me almost five hours to complete by myself, but that included a short lunch break and a couple pee breaks. It also included a pause to get online and READ SOME REVIEWS of this product... I too, thought I needed 16 more of the “P” screws!!! But the supplied hardware is correct - it’s the VERY FIRST STEP in the instructions that’s wrong! If you examine the four (4) “G” pieces - each has machined metal ‘female’ screw inserts. Insert the “M” screws from the FINISHED side of the “A” and “B” pieces into the “G” pieces, and you will immediately see that you don’t need more “P” screws. It’s a “Duhhhhh” moment once you realize what is wrong: the diagram on the instructions for this step is indeed backwards. (Two people working with this knowledge should have this bed completely set up in under 2 hours, easy-peasy.) Dislike: Composite wood side rails. Not particle board, but layered composite like plywood. It has a laminate finish only on the assembled visible sides. True, it’s ‘solid wood’, but Ethan Allen it’s not... hence the low, low, budget-friendly price!! Take care during assembly to not scratch or damage the thin laminate with the cheesy little supplied Allen wrench when you’re tightening all the screws. (The Allen wrench is a habitual dislike in all furniture assembly projects.) Like: The 14” height is great, especially for an older person, or if your mattress is not super thick. Like: The cut grooves for the slats are awesome, as well as the Velcro being attached to both support and slat ends with wood staples. The slats are solid wood, and they aren’t budging. So unless you are way super-sized, and regularly flail about in bed like an angry beached whale (in which case you probably shouldn’t be shopping platform beds at all), this bed offers more than enough stable support. I purchased the 13” thick Zinus hybrid mattress, which is really heavy, and it’s fine on this base, except it’s about an inch too wide. But another like (which you can see in my photos) is that this base has an edge (lip) about 5/8” deep all around to keep the mattress contained... Nice. Most that I looked at don’t have this. So I just kinda tucked the mattress edges down into the frame, and it’s all good. Like: Even though the finish is laminate, it is a very pleasant color. The Mission style harmonizes well with my other wood furniture. Overall, despite the poor instructions getting me off to a bad start, I am extremely pleased with this purchase and would recommend it as a very sturdy and attractive bed. It does not give that “disposable furniture” vibe at all. I hope this info helps. ... show more

  • Missing pieces, waste of time
Color: Light Brown Size: Queen
The bed frame only came with half the pieces necessary for assembly, and inaccurate assembly instructions. We wasted an hour trying to set up the bed only to realize after an hour that not all the necessary pieces were included in the packaging. Specifically our package was missing half (16 pieces) of part P. Will be contacting the seller to try and resolve this issue, but as of now, it has caused a huge headache in our move-in process. ... show more

  • Took a chance - loved it!
Color: Light Brown Size: Full
I had been doing research on bed frames for WEEKS when I came across this frame with very few reviews and not many details in the description. I was a little worried it was a scam or something, but I took a chance, and it paid off BIG TIME! This is a great bed frame, looks good, no squeaking (so far). Super easy to assemble. As a petite female, I put it together by myself in just a few hours. I use it with one of those mattress-in-a-box mattresses that expand when you first get them, and there have been no issues with the mattress sinking through the slats or anything. ... show more

  • Cute, but not functional.
Color: Light Brown Size: King
The bed looks great, except it’s not stable AT ALL. We’ve assembled correctly, followed all the steps and took all the care needed. My husband and I are both between 150-175lb each, we don’t have kids jumping on our bed, nor do we play 50shades everyday on top of it. It does matter what we do, the bed doesn’t stay fully set / stable for more than a few days. If you can, I would highly recommend using glue with your screws and see if that helps. ... show more

  • You only need 16 P screws, do not use on side legs!!
Color: Light Brown Size: Full
Instructions are horrible. We waited so much time putting this bed together. You ONLY need 16 of the P screws. They do not , repeat do not go on the side legs. Once we figured that out the bed was very easy to assemble and looks great! Would recommend this bed but would also recommend that the manufacturers redo the instructions!!! ... show more

  • Part Broke Almost immediately
Color: Light Brown Size: Queen
Upon putting the bed onto the frame one of the wooden slats IMMEDIATELY broke once I sat on the bed. This company only sells through amazon and they won't let me replace it without returning the whole thing. It is unecessarily difficult to replace a single broken board.

  • Found a way to make it work finally. (updated review)
Color: Light Brown Size: Full
I bought this because I wanted a simple, wood platform bed. The reviews were not great but I thought I would take a chance. Please do not repeat my mistake! As several other reviewers stated, you need 16 more P parts to complete assembly. As it is, the frame does not seem truly stable and the appearance with the gaping holes on the side is not attractive. If you follow the directions exactly, you would not use those extra parts, but even the picture of the bed frame on Amazon has those P parts on the middle legs. They were not mentioned in the instructions. **I found the review about the instructions being backwards on the very first part of the assembly. Once those bolts were put in from the outside in, the whole thing came together. It's pretty sturdy now, It doesn't squeak like my metal frame does. I also got a splinter while assembling the frame. There were a few places where the edges of the wood were rough. The first picture shows where the P screws should go. The second shows the P parts on the end legs. The third shows the rough edge. ... show more

  • Do not buy this!
Color: Light Brown Size: Queen
Technically, the set up was easy, but the wood was literally breaking off in some areas as I was screwing things in. My daughter was the one using the frame. She weighs about 160 pounds. Yesterday we went to take it apart because she decided she just wants a box spring. When we took the mattress off the frame, there were screws that had already completely unscrewed themselves and had fallen out completely, the wood that was used as support was bowed and cracking, somehow the support legs in the middle were slanting at a 45 degree angle and the wood that was supposed to be supported by it wasn’t even attached to it anymore (screws had completely gone through their pre drilled holes). The frame was literally falling apart piece by piece when we tried moving it. We only had it for a little over 6 months and it was totally wrecked. ... show more
