  • Good quality scope, I would definitely by again !
Style: 5.56/5.45/.308 with 30mm mount
Scope has seen time on AR platforms in 556/223 AND 7.62X39mm chamberings. A 20ga slug gun, and Rugar 10-22. It's held zero on all occasions. Glass is clear at all magnifications, Parallax and sight picture is not fussy, Fast easy to find aim point. Plenty of eye relief even for the slug gun. 20Ga. Magnification adjustment is quite stiff but smooth, Drop indications are accurate with 556 and... 7.62 is close enough for play, in the up to 200yard ranges I practice with. The inverted V and chevron aim point is fast to acquire and compensate for ranges from 50yards out to 300 yards with 223/556 ammo (7.62X39) ammo is close enough to ring steel 10-inch plates to 200 with 50yard zero 20Ga was sighted at 50yd and was minuet of deer 25–75-yard ranges. Kinda overkill fora shotgun but worked for a heavy woods brush gun at 3x. (30 rounds of slugs,, and a successful deer season... did not change zero) worked on the 10-22 in close- tin can range, but was not a good fit for longer ranges, with my shooting style and 22lr. Illumination control is smooth. Brightness to suite almost any background light levels is possible. Battery has lasted , with being left on for hours on a few occasions,, with no signs of needing to be changed yet. There is an included extra battery contained in the windage cap for when the time comes. The included mount looks good and is sturdy, well-made, has stood up to platform changes and the normal bangs and bumps plus recoil of the calibers mentioned. I have not lock- Tite the screws and a Quick check when cleaning is all that has been needed. FYI I had a SIG scope 1-6 and was disappointed with its very narrow sight picture past 3x magnification and parallax issues, I replaced it with this and am very happy I did (sorry SIG) This scope has none of those problems. It's a solid value for the price. ... show more

  • Love it. You cant beat this optic for the ...
Style: 5.56/5.45/.308
This is my 3rd Primary Arms 1-6. I have another Gen 3 on my CMMG Mk 47 in 7.62x39. Love it. You cant beat this optic for the money. Nothing comes close for features and quality. I will say it isn't a Steiner, Trijicon, or Leupold as far as glass quality, but it isn't far off either. I love the ACSS reticle and wish other manufacturers would adopt it. I also think having an etched reticle over just a red dot is beneficial if your illumination goes down. Primary Arms gives you this and more. I actually ran this optic last weekend at a 3 day Costa Ludus Carbine course and it was quite a torture test. We had heavy rains, muddy conditions, and fired over 1000 rounds. My PA ran like a champ. I did change out the battery once but it may have been because it was the original battery. After the change, I didn't have any illumination issues. I was able to zero quickly on day one and my rifle held zero all the way through day 3. We did a lot of moving and shooting and dropping to the ground. The optic is tough and came through very well. A lot of the other guys were running Aimpoints and high dollar optics. I personally like gear that is bang for the buck type stuff when it comes to my carbines so I own multiple PA optics. At no time did I feel like I was at a disadvantage. I would trust mine and my family's life to this optic in a home defense situation after having it perform so well during the 3 day class. I would say that in a duty or combat situation, I may choose a more battle proven optic, but for my purposes and most casual shooters, this is a great optic. I will say advantage over a red dot is the magnification. I had many opportunities to dial up magnification and get good rounds on target at distance where a 1x red dot would not perform so well unless you were fundamentally a perfect shooter. I would certainly try one if you are at all on the fence. I bet you would be impressed and your fellow shooters would give PA a second look. Less expensive doesn't always mean Cheap. Way to go Primary Arms! ... show more

  • This optic is worth the hype!
Style: 5.56/5.45/.308
This optic is worth the hype! The ACSS reticle is fast and easy to acquire, and performs so well Trijicon uses it in the latest ACOG. I prefer this reticle to others used in competitor's AR-type optics - faster to range targets and much more user-friendly. The illuminated reticle doesn't wash out in bright light (that I've encountered yet, anyway), and the fact that it's etched on the lens means that even if it does, or the battery dies, you can continue to engage. The Gen III offers several improvements over the Gen II, and this optic is worth every penny and more - you won't find another optic of this caliber in this price range. The glass is clear, no tinting that I can tell, and the overall quality rivals, and in most cases bests, other optics costing much more. Not all sunshine and roses though. The focus ring seems a little loose for what should be a set-and-forget aspect (once it's set to your vision, why change it?), and the rear cap fits on the focus ring - so any bump or shift can throw your reticle slightly out of focus. The easy fix is to take the cap off, focus the reticle, then reinstall the cap vertically so returning it to proper focus is as easy as realigning the cap. The "snap" and grip when closing the caps is a little weak also - any little nudge pops them open. This can be a good thing under pressure, but a minor annoyance while carrying. The caps do fit firmly on the housing though, so no complaints there. All in all, my issues with the optic are minimal and minor - nothing that actually affects the performance of the optic. It rides well on my 3-gun rifle and I wouldn't trade it for a competitor's optic for twice the price. ... show more

  • Works great for my PSA gen 3 308
Style: 5.56/5.45/.308
I only have about 160 rounds with this gun and scope but so far works and looks perfect. I don't just pop at targets with cheap ammo I like to go scouting and hunting walk for miles through very rough terrain so this gun does get bumped pretty hard sometimes on trees and rocks and it has held zero perfectly. ... show more
