Description

The Presto® induction compatible pressure canner is the only full-sized consumer pressure canner that works on an induction range. Its extra-large 23-quart size is designed for easy, confident pressure canning—the only method recommended safe by the U.S. Department of Agriculture for canning vegetables, meats, poultry, and seafood. It doubles as a boiling water canner for preserving fruits, jams, jellies, pickles, and salsa in half-pint, pint, and quart jars. Canner is constructed of heavy-gauge aluminum with an induction compatible stainless steel-clad base for fast, even heating. It works on gas, electric, smooth-top, and induction ranges. The deluxe pressure gauge registers precise processing pressures, which are especially important in high altitude areas. The special air vent/cover lock allows pressure to build only when the cover is closed properly and prevents the cover from being opened until pressure is safely reduced. It also gives a visual indication of pressure inside the canner. Canner is versatile too! Use it as a large capacity pressure cooker for preparing meats, poultry, soups, desserts and more. This thing is a workhorse. Easy to use, beginner friendly, & durable. I’ve had it a year and a half now and have used it like crazy to can everything from black bean soup to beef/chicken broth.

    • Induction compatible!
After going from an electric to an induction stovetop (LOVE IT), my old canner had to be retired for a canner that was induction compatible. This Presto 23 quart was the only induction compatible canner I could find. It worked perfectly on my stovetop and holds 7 quart sized mason jars. I did purchase two canner plates separately because when I am canning with pints and half-pints, I can stack two levels of jars in the canner, allowing me to preserve up to twenty jars at once. I also like that the canner lid has an arrow that you match up with an arrow on the canner rim and then turn clockwise to a tight seal. My old canner was a pain to get the lid and the bottom on right. The canner comes with a pressure guage and a 15 lb pressure weight that will wobble during the canning process, letting you know that the pressure is building. It also acts as a safety and will pop off to release pressure if the canner exceeds the maximum pressure (and mine never has). With the large capacity, the safety features, the induction capability, and the ease of locking the lid tightly into place, I am really liking this product. ... show more

I am completely happy with this purchase. It works great with the induction cooktop that I purchased (you can see my reviews for which one I decided to buy). It seals nicely and maintains good pressure and does what it is supposed to do. No complaints here! Well, okay ... I would have liked to have some kind of feet on the false metal bottom pieces to make more room for water on the bottom. I use the ring from a spring form pan in order to lift up the bottom to get more water under it, but that's not really ideal. But that's a pretty minor critique. ... show more

This pressure canner is easy to use, easy to maintain, and it has a large capacity. I have not used a pressure canner before, but I am very pleased I started off with this one. I have an induction stove and this pressure canner performs excellently. I recommend it.
