  • Really, it's dust free!
I wanted to write a review since most were a couple years old. I've been using World's Best Cat Litter for a couple years now and the Blue Buffalo one before that. Both were extremely dusty, starting with the initial pour out of the bag and getting worse with each passing sift through the scoop (although WBCL was significantly better than BB). While they did their job with keeping smells under control, I would have a coating of litter dust all over me after cleaning 4 boxes and don't even want to think about all the dust inhaled. Eww! This Precious Cat Respiratory Relief really is dust free, and I was very skeptical at first. It is heavy for its size and I am needing to buy more of it than the other two but I do not have little dust all over the area surrounding the boxes me after cleaning. My cats took it right away so I can assume they like it too. They don't have any diagnosed respiratory conditions but they are sneezing less than used to, which is a plus. It does pretty good on smell control but I clean out the boxes every day and that shouldn't be an issue with most litters that are cleaned frequently. I would absolutely recommend to anyone! ... show more

  • No dust, No smell, Less Tracking
I have been trying out various brands of cat litters for quite a long time, and finally found this one. It is my favorite. Here's why: I hate litter dust. It is not good for me or my cat. Even when I wasn't scooping, I could usually still smell the litter dust in the air. This litter has no dust! It is evident even when pouring the brand new litter into the litter pan and when scooping. I appreciate that, and I'm sure my cat does too. It seems to track less than other clay litters because the clay pellets seem to be heavier. However, I do use a top entry litter box for my cat (Petmate) because it helps with tracking as well. There is no smell. I have never been a fan of scented litter, because even when the litter box is clean, the smell of the litter just lingers in my house. This litter has no smell and covers up cat urine smells really well. I am very good about scooping the litter waste every day, so I don't know how well it would control odors if you were to clean the litter box less often. I also change and replace with fresh litter about every 4 weeks. Overall, I am happy with this product (and I think my cat is too) and will continue to buy. I have also found that it is cheaper on Amazon ($12.74) vs. PetsMart ($16.99). ... show more

  • Good litter.
I switched to this from the Ultra Cat litter, also by Dr. Elsey's, after one of my cats started having a lot of reverse sneezing fits. So far, he hasn't had one since the switch, so I'm cautiously optimistic! This litter is very similar to the Ultra Cat, which was my favorite litter after trying many brands. I think the clumping and odor control are about the same (very good, imo), and same with the tracking (okay, imo). I do think it is a bit less dusty than the Ultra Cat. If it helps my kitty, that will be worth five stars in my book! I did knock one star off because the packaging for these is really frustrating. The box with a handle is a good idea in theory, but when it gets shipped through Amazon, all that traveling knocks a lot of litter out through the seams. When unpacking, the Amazon box always has a good amount of escaped litter in it, which is really messy to deal with. As unwieldy as the 40 lb. bags are, I wish that this product came in those instead. ... show more

  • After 11 years of litter hunting, I've found the One.
Update: two small boxes of this stuff has lasted my two cats (both of whose poops have almost knocked me unconscious on several occasions) almost two months. There is NO odor. I scoop daily into a litter genie (excellent!! Highly recommend). Still no dust and still clumps well. My ex, who occasionally scoops when he's here, even said it's amazing. Easily the best litter we've had in our 11 years of cat ownership. I have asthma and seems my cat might too. NO DUST with this product. Also controls odor well without a gross cover-up perfume -- you must clean at least daily of course. Clumps very well. I'm not sure why others haven't had the same exceptional experience. My only gripe is the small amount for the cost, but it's for our health so it's worth it. ... show more

  • Dusty, awful, hostile customer service. This stuff made me sick.
I bought a box of this on Amazon months ago, I thought it was really good regarding dust. My husband didn't care for it because the clumps were hard to get out of the litter box. Had I reviewed this product at that time, I probably would have given it 4 stars. I picked up another box at a local pet supply about a month ago. The dust was terrible. I didn't know why I was having a hard time breathing and my asthmatic cat was having a terrible time, as well. After a few days of breathing issues and a dusty, drying feeling in my mouth and throat, along with a severely plugged nose, I found asthma cat lying in the cat box. He was trying to tell me, "hey dummy, it's the litter that's making us sick." I went out, picked up some boxiecat and a couple of discounted drawer/box things at Ikea. When I got home, I went outside and poured the boxiecat into the new litter boxes. No dust. After replacing the older boxes, I decided to combine them outside to see what was up. As soon as the litter hit the box, a thick cloud of dust started blowing out. I am still trying to get the fine coating of dust cleaned out of the house and have been running air cleaners on high 24/7. I have had to clean the air cleaners twice, so far and it's been a week. I called Precious Cat, the customer service woman didn't even introduce herself. You could hear the tension in her voice as soon as she answered the phone. I told her everything and asked how I was supposed to get all of that dust cleaned up. She responded in a hostile voice telling me to send a receipt and they would refund my money. I told her I didn't save it, and usually don't save cat litter receipts I asked her if they had consistent quality control there, she said they did and this issue had never come up before. I guess she needs to read Amazon reviews, right, Do not buy this product. And, by the way, there are no regulations nor government oversight on cat litter. ... show more
