This box works really well. Has a booster button to jump dead batteries. I have tested several jump start boxes and the clips on this one doesn't open as far as others, and I like other styles with the longer, narrower clips as they are easier to fit into tight spaces and open further.

Some things are just going to cost a bit of a premium for the quality expected, this may be a prime example of that. I expected it to pretty lightweight, but it actually has some definite heft. Short of giving someone a jump I don't expect this to be used in the general automotive functions it is designed for. Primarily I got this to charge up my battery banks for their initial charge, and as a reserve thereafter. It is small and compact enough that it doesn't even seem like a real jumper-pack, just shows the progression of battery technology. This is a perfect unit to have and keep in the vehicle roadside emergency/event. $160 isn't cheap but neither is the cost of getting out of an automotive breakdown pickle, it's an affordable 'insurance' device to be certain. ... show more

Over the years I've had multiple occasions where I've needed jumper cables. Usually, it's to help someone else. But I've always thought that I'll be next at some point. While I haven't used this device yet, from everything that I've seen on it and looked at, it appears to be just want I wanted for those times where I may have a dead battery. It came fully charged and appears to be of good quality. Since I haven't had to use it yet, I can't say for sure that it will work when needed. But it's like insurance. This is a solid, multi-functional device. I’m putting it in the trunk of my wife’s car for peace of mind and safety. Not only does it start a dead battery, which is awesome if no one is around to help and your battery is dead, it also functions as a charger (if stuck somewhere and your phone is dead) and as a multi-mode flashlight with always on, SOS and strobe settings. It holds a charge for a long time, up to 24 months, but does recommend re-charging every 3 months or so. The directions are simple to understand, the device is easy to use, and for me, it was a no-brainer to get for her car… I like it so much, I may get another one for my truck. I can also use it to jump my motorcycle or generator if one of those batteries dies over the winter. Not sure how it compares to competitive products, but I really like it… functional, simple to use and even comes with a really great storage case for the battery device, the jump cables and charging cord. ... show more

Very sturdy and the display is large and easy to see. It came mostly charged and I topped it off. I have not had a car battery go bad yet but expect a problem. The light on the end is bright and having the USB ports is good to have for cellphone recharge if needed. It has a very sturdy case too. I have it on the floor in the backe seat area because in the infinite wisdom of GM, my 2014 Impala has no keyed lock for the trunk... The last time the battery went out my charger was in the trunk which you could not open. I could also not put the car in neutral to roll it out to my van as the shifter was also electric.
