I was looking for a push mower that didn't have a Briggs and Stratton (B&S) engine and didn't want to pay for a Honda. My many experiences with B&S engines and their lack of customer support led me to this mower. A word of caution: some models from this manufacturer have B&S engines which I would avoid like the plague. All that being said; this mower works great and has a surprising amount power. I thought that in a couple of spots where I was mowing that the mower would have bogged down. It didn't and works like a champ. It came out of the box nearly ready to go.     • Bad product from a very bad seller - BUYER BEWARE !!

This PowerSmart mower looked like good value so I bought it and it shipped direct from the seller. Within a week the rubber skirt at the rear of the mower that protects operator from flying stones or debris came off. Amerisun Inc., shipped a replacement that took a month and they're in IL, and I'm in TX. Literally a week within the 12 months warranty the pull start mechanism broke. They did not respond promptly via Amazon customer support from the seller. I tried to call their customer service direct and put on hold for over an hour when I finally got a chance to leave a message. They did not return the call then and for 3 more times I left a message. They never answer their phone. They never responded to direct email as given on their website. Finally I had to complain via Amazon and after more than 1 month Amerisun, Inc., responded and over the following weeks of back and forth attempts to get the machine serviced with new parts they finally offered a replacement or a refund. I opted for a refund as the grass doesn't stop growing in summer and this company does not have a service center in TX or nearby state and, they essentially have no customer support when their machines malfunction. I had lost faith in PowerSmart and the distributor. However, they will only give a refund if I ship the mower back to them in Chicago Illinois at my expense, estimated by UPS Store at $150. The problem is that it is now a used mower and even if I drain the gasoline out there still remains fumes and neither UPS, FedEx or common carriers will handle it now being "hazardous". The importer of this China made piece of **** , Amerisun Inc., clearly cannot service or repair their faulty machines and will not accept responsibility by not responding to requests for help. I have finally spoken to Amazon customer service who have contacted Amerisun on my behalf. Hopefully Amerisun Inc., will do the right thing and refund in full. Then there is the 3 year protection plan that I purchased with the mower at $48.99 from Asurion who would not help in this matter as that the mower was still under the manufacturer's warranty when the problem came about.     • Better than Expected - A Great Basic Lawn Mower

My 10 year old Craftsman Push Lawn Mower motor had just quit, and to replace the motor cost $225.00, so I started looking at Push lawn mowers at Lowes, Walmart, Home Depot and Amazon. I settled on the Power Smart Push Lawnmower available on Amazon. It was bought during Amazon Prime days so I got a nice little discount on the price. The price, (it sold for $225 on Prime days), and the three year warranty were strong selling points. I bought this lawn mower, and It was easy to set up, be sure to adjust your cutting height, and to add 30 weight motor oil such as Amsoil, Royal Purple or Briggs and Stratton Motor Oil for SMALL ENGINES, (no Car motor oil). I wanted to MULCH and not bag my grass clippings, and this lawn mower does that. I cut my 1/2 acre yard after that and it cut the grass like a Champ. I expect many years of good use from this machine and If you want a Cheaper gas Lawn Mower that mulches, I recommend this machine. A GREAT BASIC LAWNMOWER. ... show more

I actually liked everything about the mower except the plastic wheels and I am only unsure about them ...Time will tell I guess but they told you about them when you purchased the mower , as for the rest of it , it seems like pretty good mower !

I purchased a mower from this company early last year. It broke down after a few uses. I had purchased the warranty, so after a few weeks of trying to reach their customer service, they contacted me and gave me a refund of Amazon credit. I am on a fixed income, so I felt like I had no choice but to purchase the same mower again because of the Amazon credit refund. Later last summer I purchased this mower and the warranty. The new mower has now stopped working after a few uses. The warranty people have given me a run around for about a month. Then they suggested I take it to a shop 3 hours away from where I live. When I told them it was a 3 hour drive, they told me I could take it to a local shop. I have been without a mower for over a month and now I have to come up with a way to get it a shop and pay initially out of my pocket until they decide if they will cover it or not. Unless you only need to mow your grass once a year, do not buy this mower. ... show more
