Features

  • POWERFUL GARDEN DRILL AUGER: Our bulb planting auger measures 3" in diameter by 7" long and is good for planting 3"-4" potted bedding plants. It has been designed to leave a small amount of loose soil in the bottom of the hole when digging, which helps a new plant to start growing.
  • MULTIFACETED BULB PLANTING TOOL: This garden auger drill bit for planting is an alternative to post hole diggers, bulb planters, or shovels for digging holes. You can also use it on mixing gallons of paint, mortar, grass seed, or fertilizer.
  • NO GROUND THAT'S TOO TOUGH: With a 5/8-inch shaft made of steel, our plant auger for drill is effective against hard dirt, clay, rocky soil, and sand. This flower bulb planter tool also mixes loose soil and helps your plant to grow better.
  • READY TO USE: Our power planter auger fits most electric or cordless drills. Simply connect the auger bit's 3/8-inch non-slip hex drive with any cordless drill that contains a minimum of 18V, and you're ready to dig. Do not use with impact driver drills, drill bit extensions, or sockets.
  • POWER PLANTER'S CRAFTMANSHIP: We are a family-owned business with over 30 years of experience. Based in Illinois, USA, we produce quality auger accessories that speed up the planting time of property owners, DIYers, Gardeners, and outdoorsy people.

  • A quality earth auger
Color: Pink
Very durable and efficient at digging. I used this auger not only to plant, but to dig some deep roots of a 10ft tree to remove (even though this probably wasnt advised by the manual) and it did so with no issues; made the job a lot easier. There’s cheaper listings for earth augers out there, but I’m glad I spent a bit extra for a quality item that will last me a while. It’s also by a family owned company that’s passed down from generations which is always great to see. ... show more

  • Works unbelievably well
Color: Black
My wife and I have a second home in Pennsylvania and last weekend we drove up to plant some bulbs. This was the first opportunity I have had to use this tool and I can tell you, it works WONDERFULLY. This is more than a bulb planter, think of it as a hand held tiller. I used it to open up the soil (admittedly the soil wasn't in horrible condition) for a solid 25 feet using a corded drill. It spit up the large rocks and broke up the smaller ones. I do have two small complaints however (nothing is perfect after all). 1. I would love it if the shaft was squared off instead of being round, as this would give the drill better grip. I did have to re-tighten the drill chuck a couple of times (this could be due to the fact that my drill doesn't use a chuck key, but is hand tightened). This is why I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5. 2. I would love if they made a longer version of this, it would help save my poor knees. LOL All in all, this is a very good product. ... show more

  • Extremely Well Made, Pefrect Design
Color: Black
I received the product earlier than expected, packed very well in a nice box. Instructions are included and I think it is very important to review them as it is more safety information than 'how to'. I grabbed up my drill after reading instructions and headed to some trouble spots in my yard. I live in Central Florida so rocks are not usually a problem. However, sometimes the yard can develop hard spots where the grass will not fill in and the surface is extremely hard, almost like clay. If it is a large area, you can go at with picks, shovels or whatever, but most of the areas I needed to tackle were 4-6 inch circular areas. This is just perfect for those areas! I had all that needed to be done within 45 minutes. I've always been reluctant to plant bulbs and I already know that this is going to be perfect for that task. When you have arthritic hands as I do, with very diminishing strength, it is a joy to find something that will allow me to continue to do the things that bring me satisfaction. This tool is so very well made, impressive weight which helps break through tough top soil. The overall length is perfect, keeps me from going too far below the surface. The blade pitch is perfect, it lifts without throwing dirt everywhere. This would make a great gift for your gardening friends (as long as they have a variable speed drill). I can't believe I can't find anything I don't like about this tool. HIGHLY recommend. ... show more

  • 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Color: Black
Wish I had known about this many moons ago in my gardening history. What an easy way to dig holes! But it is tricky to use. My advice is go really slow until you get the hang of it. I’m sure it could Cause a badly sprained wrist if not used with caution. But all said and I love how easy & quick it is now to dig holes for planting‼️ ... show more

  • Great product, easy to use
Color: Pink
I purchased this product to plant bulbs in my yard. After working with a shovel in the spring and finding out , very painfully, that my hips are bone-on-bone, I needed something that would allow me to continue to garden, but not put so much pressure on my hips. This worked very well for digging shallow trenches for my flowers. I did use a fairly large electric drill with the side handle for more control. I did have to re-tighten the bit every few minutes of use, but that could have been user error 😉. The soil was damp, not wet. I am looking forward to using this in the spring when I transplant my flats of veggies and flowers. I chose to purchase this particular item because it is American made and I believe in supporting our American companies. ... show more

  • Great tool!
Color: Pink
I used this tool to drill holes for my plants going in the garden. I don't till the ground, but rather just dig holes where I want to place seeds or starts and add soil amendments-compost, manure, perlite, worm castings, etc.. This tool sure saved my arm, elbow and wrist from have to use a small hand shovel to dig the holes. I just had to keep plenty of batteries charged for my drill. I drilled probably 400+ holes. I like the pink color cause it makes me smile, but it does wear off the blade edges pretty quickly, as to be expected when drilling into the ground, I guess. ... show more

  • The Best Way to Plant Bulbs
Color: Black
My son is not a fan of bulbs - probably because I tend to get way too many every fall, end up begging him to help me plant them all. The Power Planter is a game changer - he had so much fun digging holes, he asked why we didn't have more! We've tried augers before, and they were worse than just digging. This one is different - it was sturdy and worked perfectly. Fast and easy! I wish we'd had one years ago! ... show more

  • Some Augers need Hammer Drills
Color: Black
It looked like a good idea at the time. If you pay close attention the the lead photo it shows this auger being used with a Dewalt Hammer Drill. There is a reason for this. If your garden bed is soft loam this auger will work fine with a lightweight drill. But if you need to dig into Texas clay a Hammer drill will work better. Some augers have a triangular bit at the bottom to dig into hard ground. Augers with a cone shaped tip will just sit and spin, unless you have a two handed drill. I'll give it to one of my neighbors and let them play with it. ... show more
