    • An Effective Counter Force to Slouching

I am writing this review because I feel that this back brace has helped me have less neck/shoulder muscle fatigue and pain at the end of long periods of stationary work. Here are my specific takes on BackEmbrace: QUALITY: The brace bands are made of soft material, which has excellent stretch, without being bulky. It wears well compared to anything else I have tried. The stitching is precise and holds up well on repeated use. The Velcro strip is durable, and of high quality. COMFORT: The wide bands place gentle pressure on the skin. I'm a surgeon and wearing it against my skin, under the surgical scrubs has not been an issue, and the bands have not caused any irritation. However, my preference is to wear the brace over a fitted t-shirt when possible. The dual-bands at the shoulders allow me to adjust the pressure more evenly over the deltoids. DURATION: I adjust the tightness of the bands depending on two factors: 1. How long I anticipate wanting to wear the brace, and 2. My ability to access the brace for adjustments. For example, if I'm in front of the computer, and can easily adjust the band, I may wear it slightly tighter, and easily adjust as I see fit. But, If I will be in the operating room for many hours, without the ability to adjust, then I place less stretch on the bands to maintain a more moderate level of support that is easy to tolerate for many hours, and alleviate the need for adjustments during surgery. THE FIT: I am male, 5'10" tall, 175 lbs, generally lean, and a size 40" chest. I ordered size medium/large. If you are any larger than me, then I would consider going to the XL size OVERALL: I've had significant tension relief in my neck and shoulders. The product is of high quality, which is not always a given with these types of things. It is comfortable for longer wear. Like anything else, it requires that you spend some time experimenting with it to learn the level of support that is ideal for you, and how to have the brace best meet your particular needs. I’ve been using this brace for about 2 months, after having ongoing pain with my neck and shoulder area from working remotely. I really like that I can wear it for hours at a time, as the one I purchased previously stated to only wear for a max of 3 hours at a time. I also like that it can be worn under clothes without being visible in most cases. I wouldn’t go as far to say it’s comfortable, as it does start to feel tight after awhile, but I can normally wear for 3-4 hours at a time without too much discomfort. All in all, this was a good purchase, as my pain is definitely not as frequent as it was before I started using it, however it’s also not completely gone. I still have good days and bad days. On bad days, wearing it doesn’t make much of a difference with my pain. Aside from that, i think it’s pretty easy to put on if done in front of a mirror but it’s important to note that it’s not too difficult for the straps to become tangled or undone. There is a how to video on the site that explains how to re-assemble if this happens but that might be difficult for some people that don’t have good hand eye coordination like myself. Luckily my husband was able to help with this. The price seems a bit high for something that can become undone this easily. But overall still mostly satisfied. ... show more

Exactly what I was looking for. It's pretty. It's soft. It fits. Follow the directions and don't wear it too long in the beginning. Build up your tolerance. A little pricey. But, worth it with the support and good quality.

Very difficult to put on and take off. Hurting under arms. Didn’t seem to do anything after putting up with soreness under arm pits. Straps seem to twist no matter how often you correct it. Now I know why models are all thin and fit.

    • Adjustable straps makes it difficult to wear over loose clothing

I purchased this posture corrector intending to wear it over my clothing around my house. I had no interest in wearing it under clothing. While I believe it's a good thing for an individual fit that the strap is fully adjustable - it does not work well unless you wear a close-fitting top. Since I typically wear regular (not tight-fitting) T-shirts, I found it impossible to adjust the straps properly to fit over my shirt. Every time I pulled on a strap to adjust it for proper body placement, my shirt bunched up and twisted. Then I would attempt to straighten the shirt and it would move the strap. Again, this seems like a good posture product - but I would recommend that buyers keep in mind how they want to use it before purchasing. ... show more
