In His Dark Materials by Philip Pullman, children have a piece of their soul outside of their body as a familiar called a daemon that takes the shape of an animal and is their inseparable best friend. If I were in that universe, my daemon would be a bidet. I shudder to think of what I was doing before, and now that I’ve freed myself, I won’t go back. Toilet paper is medieval but unfortunately so is much of america. I travel for business quite a bit and when I do, I’m subjected to the insult and injury of toilet paper. That was until I got this. It is electronic so Im not sure about its life span. Thats why I’m getting the tushy travel bidet as a back up, but so far, this thing is working great ... show more

No match for a regular bidet, but for travel or if you don't have a bidet at all, it is compact and will do in a pinch. Firm water stream, but runs out of water quickly and you might have to fill it twice. Considering how compact it is, it does a decent job--not amazing, but adequate.

Whoever invented this thing should get a Nobel Prize. It's amazing. Works great. The water does run out faster than you think it will (20 seconds or so on high), so it's preferable to have a faucet within reach to refill.

I'm a big guy, and wiping is just not a good option. At home I have a bidet and I love it... but if I'm out I try to make sure I get home if I have to do a #2. If I'm going to be gone for several days, however, other options are necessary. I chose this one based on Amazon reviews, and I have to say I'm quite satisfied with it. It has enough reach and power and water in the reservoir to do the job, and innocuous enough to travel through an airport or to bring into a public restroom. Very pleased with this purchase. UPDATE: This thing was in my backpack during a business trip meeting and abruptly turned itself on and made a loud buzzing sound. I then had to explain what it was. Minus 2 stars for becoming a subject of conversation at a meeting in front of my boss. UPDATE 2: It won't turn on. I've only used it for a couple of weeks, no more than once a day, and it's toast.
