    • Works in upstairs attic bedroom
I have central air but despite that my attic bedroom is always warmer in the summer months. My home is set at 78 and my bedroom is always about 5 degrees warmer. This unit on my nightstand will give me a cooling feeling when going to sleep. I only set it for an hour timer. Occasionally I will turn it on for a few minutes in the middle of the night. My only complaint is the buttons are flat and you can’t feel anything so it can be difficult to hit the right part to turn it on or off in the dark. Otherwise happy with purchase. ... show more

It really doesn't cool. It's rather loud. I followed directions. My alarm clock has a thermometer on it and is right in front of the unit. The temperature never changes. Unfortunately, I got rid of the box already.

    • Decent product for a different purpose
Definitely needs to be put in a small room to be effective. Tried putting this in our kid's room to help cool off on hot summer nights. But really didn't notice much effectiveness unless you're standing right in front of it. Would probably work great for a small office.

    • A solidly built and effective little evaporative cooler
I actually own three different coolers that run on the same principal and this one is a far more efficient evaporator. It has a small reservoir and there's no way to get any ice into it, but cold water in this cools better than ice water in the misting evaporator. Don't expect miracles from this. And If you live in a humid area, this is likely not going to help. The air can only become but so saturated. You'll notice it evaporate much slower and produce much less cooling. That's why there's such a huge disparity in ratings. There's a video on YouTube that goes into more detail on this effect and also actually features this particular item. You'll see it on the thumbnail. That being said, it is a solid device. It's beautiful in its simplicity. It's a hardware fan, a filter, a reservoir, an on/off button and a fan speed button. It's finicky getting the filter in and out, but gently shifting it from side to side as you lower it back down can help you get the hang of it. All in all, I'm very pleased with it.     • This is absolutely terrible.
When I first went to order, it showed to have a near 5 star review which is why I chose this particular product. I froze the filter as it stated and had it on for MAYBE 5 min before the air went hot. The actual fan on it is beyond weak. This is a horrible product at an expensive price. Please do not waste your money as I did. ... show more
