Needed an A/C unit for my kitchen, and I don't like window units, so ordered this mobile unit. Specifically because it was an 8K BTU init, where most of the others are 5 or 6K. Have used the unit for about 2 months now, and overall pretty pleased. Because I have a 100+ year old house, the windows in the kitchen are narrow, so I has to cut down the window adapter a bit, but not a big deal. Seems to work well, although I am a bit skeptical that it is actually putting out 8K of cooling, thus the reason for 4 stars. So overall I would definitely recommend this unit, will see how it helps during this week upcoming heat wave! ... show more

    • Lighter weight, smaller, cools well
I liked how this air conditioner is smaller and lighter but yet still cools well. Unfortunately the hose tube and window attachment are loose so I have to use a lot of masking tape around both the hose tube and the window attachment because there are gaps. The hose doesn't want to stay put in the window attachment so I put extra masking tape around it each time as well. So it is convenient in size and weight. It works well to cool the room. However it takes a little extra time, masking tape, and effort to set it up. For the price, it is worth it! ... show more

    • DRY MODE!
So I had 2 negative issues with this and the first was not the product's fault. Amazon delivered it sitting upside down on a box that clearly marked "THIS SIDE UP" so I had to leave it sitting for a while before I used it. I left it for 24 hours just to be sure and luckily there was no damage. The second issue I had was the vent tubing. It's not very good and I had to use duct tape to seal it. The first 2 days of using it were miserable. It got up to 96 in my studio because I did not realize quickly enough that so much hot air was dumping out of the vent tubing. I fixed that and I was at least able to keep it at 85 in here. I went on for a few days of that thinking, "well this was a $300 piece of junk" and then I tried out the amazing feature called dry mode. OOOOOOOHHHHH YEAAAAAHHHH. 75 degrees now and loving it. ... show more

    • Contacting customer service.
I gave this as a gift. The recipient had an installation question about what was recommended when the height of the window was shorter than the trim pieces included. Apparently, when they slid the trim piece section down to the size of the window, it covered the insertion hole for the vent. They contacted Amazon customer service who did not have a clue. They suggested contacting the manufacturer. The recipent emailed the manufacturer in China who responded a day later to cut the plastic trim with a chain saw. Needless to say what would happen if you did that. So, they took it to Home Depot and they did the cut. All good now. ... show more

I was pleasantly surprised how well this portable air conditioner worked. I have a different brand that doesn’t cool down as well but it is in a bigger room but it is want for a bigger room. Shocked at how small but does the job. Wish vents would move also side to side without having to move my whole unit & wish could control motion of vent on remote. Other than that great for small living room.

Really cools my bedroom down so it’s nice and cold when I go to bed, which is how I like to sleep. The remote allows me to control the unit without having to get up out of my bed, so convenient. The machine isn’t exactly quiet but not too loud either. I don’t mind a little white noise while I sleep but if you don’t like noise you may need to take that in to consideration. Unit is compact, not too large. It was super easy to set up...expect for the window exhaust. That was tricky to setup and required 2 people, weather stripping, and some ability to improvise. Once set up, it delivered cool A/C to my home as needed. No leakage and no other issues to report. This has been used for 30 days+ and it works great. Oh...and it doesn't make a lot of noise...it is similar to a window unit. ... show more
