This is the second summer I have used this AC WITH temps outside 100 to 110 degrees. Cools great for a 15x15 room with 9 foot ceilings. Quite a bit of furniture in room so reduces cooling/BTU needs. Also I can close the closet off. Has dual speed fans. The lower speed fan kicks in when room is cooled. If you keep unit at lower temps it may stay on high speed mode. There is a sleep mode. Noise is average to me except with notable decrease in noise when in low fan speed mode. I go down to 74-76 so the unit does shuffle to low speed.. I tilt the unit to empty the water from the top nozzle daily. Otherwise you can get a dl or dp error and the unit goes into fan mode only. This maintenance does not bother me but some may disagree. If you turn the unit off please allow the unit to cycle to shut off with the air lovers closing as mentioned in the manual before turning unit back on. The unit uses 900 watts when compressor on with high speed fan. I have run this unit on a power battery back up on refrigerator type mode for cycling compressor to extend battery charging times with no issues. Install was easy. Good quality unit. Performance great. Control remote great with C or F mode, error signals as noted when need to empty water once every one to two days. I have several fish tanks in the room which keeps humidity high and individual performance may be better in drier rooms with no need to drain unit. ... show more

Im using it in a travel trailer...Good up to 95 even with the paper thin walls and less than adequate insulation...I run this until it gets super hot outside to save on energy...Then I run my overhead factory installed air conditioner in the hottest time of the day then back to my Dura Comfort to finish off the day...Best of all this little gem does not LEAK!...If you used it to cool one medium sized room in a house I'm sure you would be very satisfied...Overall I love this thing!!! ... show more

    • Easy to setup and quiet (sometimes).

Well packaged, easy to setup (15-20 min.), and it's lot quieter than my previous window mount unit. The things I don't like are the remote, follow me function, and the window kit weather stripping which is why I gave it 4/5 stars. The remote isn't backlit and the icons are very hard to see. I looked through the manual and didn't see an option to turn it on but I could have missed it. The follow me function doesn't control the room temperature very well. This unit is in a small bedroom I use as an office. I have two computers going and it tends to heat up pretty quick. I turned the follow me function on and put the remote on the opposite side of the room. In this mode, the remote sends an update every 20 minutes. If I set the AC temp at 77 F, the room will heat up to around 80-82 F before the AC kicks on (sometimes the fan stays running, sometimes it stops). Once the AC kicks on it will cool the room down to 75 F which is colder than the setpoint of 77 F. So I keep getting these temperature swings of either to hot or to cold. If I could adjust the update rate to 10 minutes I think the temperature control would work a lot better. The window kit frame and hose is good but the included weather stripping isn't. The wide thin stuff with the sticky side is twice the width of the window kit frame and the dark grey foam stuff is a joke. After installation, there's still a small gap between the side of the window kit frame that touches the window. I think that the sticky weather stripping should have been 1/2"x1/2" instead of 1 1/2"x 1/16" so I'm going to replace that. Bottom line, it's a good AC unit for the price and I'm happy with the purchase. -Update (after about a month of use) When the fan is running it's fine but when the fan is running and the AC compressor kicks in there is a rattle coming from the inside back left middle area of the unit. I've tried removing the filter cover and pressing around the area but I can't make it go away. It gets pretty annoying if I don't have my headphones on so I may have to dive in a bit deeper. Yesterday, after running the unit a little harder (cooling set at 72 F vs 77 F) the internal storage tank filled up after running for a couple of hours. I was surprised how small the internal storage tank is when I drained it so I may have to setup the continuous draining method if it becomes a regular occurrence. ... show more

    • Not a hot summer problem solver!

The AC Dura we bought a couple of months ago at very beginning of the hot summer in florida didn't accomplish the goal of cooling off our rv in the hottest months of the year. We checked reviews prior the purchase and we thought we got the right one but it didn't happen. We installed the unit with all the requirements but started a nice cooling temp 70 or below for 1 or 2 minutes but that was it, it changed automatically to fan and blowing warm air all the time, then come back cooling for another min or 2, and that's it back to blowing warm air, checked filters, checked everything, try to contact customer service but there was no help at all. We are still trying to contact anyone with better knowledge to help us out but NADA, no help yet, we want to know if that's the way it works or if the unit has mechanical issues, but need to find out what's the deal so we can use it. Tried to chat we a rep or technical support looks like nobody cares. We'll keep trying. At this point we won't recommend the Dura AC for a hot summer cool off it do not work the rightway, we paid 400 dollars and the unit is sitting in there not being used. The manufacturer warranty is for 1 year so we expect a solution asap. ... show more

I bought this AC unit as my living room did not have one. The assembly was easy and I have wide windows and was worried the frame wasn’t long enough but it was. Works well and able to turn on the unit via the app on my way home from work. This is great as my windows have direct light from the sun and makes the living room unbearably hot. Easy to install, came with everything needed. It's easy to use and it effectively cools my home office. However, its very loud. A lot louder than the 53db it claims in sleep mode. I'm registering 68db in sleep mode, 70db on low, and 78 db on high; all were measured outside of the air flow path so the flow of air wasn't adding to the noise on the mic. Normally, it would be too loud to use in my home office and I would return it; but I'm in a bind and I need it, so I'll just have to deal. ... show more
