WIYTAMO Portable Air Conditioners 14000 BTU,5 in 1 AC Unit for Home We are using this in our bonus room which is at the end of the line for our system so is always too warm in the summer and too cold in the winter. We don't want to run our central air or heat just to maintain this room, so we run portable air conditioners and space heaters. This is more convenient. This cools a room down quickly, and the heat works well. It rolls around well and seems to register the temp as well as any other portable A/C I have used. I like the two drainage tubes which make it easier to keep on top of what condensation doesn't go out the hose. The hose is easy to connect and long and flexible enough that you can better position the unit in the room. I haven't used the window kit since I have a custom window kit, but the one included is off standard quality and will work with a variety of windows. These portable A/C units also save you a ton of money in today's world where energy prices are getting out of control. You can plug one of these in, run the hose out the window or a dedicated portable hole in your wall, and shut the door and forget about cooling the rest of the house. Great for bonus rooms, keeping bedrooms colder while you sleep, garages or smaller houses that don't have central air. I haven't used this brand before but it gets good reviews and to be honest these units tend to last about 5 years max before the plastic pieces start to perish. Considering the cost of one of one of these units compared to the electricity saved while running it and being comfortable in my room is worth it even if it stops functioning after 5 years. ... show more

    • Blows cold, poor quality control, auto-cool is flawed
I’ll start with the Pros: -It blows cold and hard! Perfect for our hot summer days and it keeps our bedroom chilly!! -The louvre has a wide range of motion which provides a really good spread for throwing the air. -It has a well placed draining solution for the dehumidifier and heat modes. -It looks nice and matches our room well! -The cord is long and durable to spec (safety first!). -Very easy to unpack and install. -The remote buttons are clear and easy to remember for using in the dark. Now the Cons: -The louvre appears to have arrived misaligned or perhaps the lower edge was too long which cause it to snag in the housing upon first use and snap off a piece of the plastic rim! This did not alter its functionality but it shouldn’t have happened nonetheless. -There’s auto-cool feature is not great. Once the desired temp is met, there needs to be a variance of 3+ degrees in the room temperature before the auto-cool kicks back on. However, the thermostat is not switching to the correct mode. Ex. I set the temp to 68f. The current room temp is 73f. The cool function operates until the room temp is 68f, as it should. Then the auto-cool turns off. Both the front and top LCDs continue to show 68 while the room temp starts to rise. I have an external thermometer next to the AC unit. The external thermometer now reads 74f but both LCDs in the AC still show 68 and it still has not turned back on. So, I switch the AC unit to “Fan” and immediately the displays change to 74, the actual room temp. This is not how this should work; it’s defective. -It’s very heavy! Shimmy the box into the house and tip your delivery driver! -It’s very loud. I out this as a con as it may bother many folks. Although, for us, we appreciate the noise since our neighborhood is eerily quiet. -The exhaust hose is very thin and the window/hose mount leaves substantial gaps on the sides of the top panel. We filled those gaps with foam window seal but that should’ve been included. The thin hose releases a lot of the exhaust heat back into the room. We haven’t REALLY tried the Heat setting yet as it’s still summer and I refuse to cook us alive in our home for the sake of a review. I’ll be back to update this review during winter. ... show more

After using it for well over three weeks to cool the garage, I found the unit a great unit for its price and features. For me the biggest benefit is that it's Tuya compatible. For those of you who aren't familiar with Tuya/Smart Life, it's one of the biggest automated home eco system globally. I have smart plugs, controllers, bulbs and all sorts of Tuya products at home already. This linked up nicely with the Tuya app and provided a lot of functionality including automated and scheduled functions. The unit itself cooled nicely. when it was over 100 degrees outside, this unit wasn't able to cool down the three car garage lower than 90 degrees. What it could to is keep it from rising above that. It think at best it could serve a decently insulated one car garage and keep in around 75 degrees. It wasn't particularly louder than any other spot cooler. I think that noise level is average. Other than that everything else is pretty average. What makes it a great product is the Tuya app integration. ... show more

This unit was super easy to install. Unfortunately, the window I had originally wanted to put it in was too SHORT... but I found another, wider window and fit it in without a problem. I got some screen/netting to put over the outlet so that no bugs/birds/etc would try climbing into the opening when the unit isn't turned on, as the opening is quite large. Plenty of space for nosy squirrel to get into, and the squirrels around here have no respect for boundaries. I really enjoy having the wifi option to turn the unit on when I'm a short distance from home, to give it some time to cool things off. Or if I forget to shut it off when I leave, it's soooo nice to be able to turn it off and not worry I'm wasting electricity. I have it in a very large, somewhat sunny room and it's done a good job taking the temperature down several degrees. Nice design and seems to work well enough. Looking forward to a cool end of summer. ... show more
