We purchased this 8k BTU air conditioner with the intention of keeping our master bedroom cool at night. Its design is relatively compact, not taking up too much space, and it easily cools the entire room. It made our room much colder than I expected. To avoid noise, we use a remote-controlled box fan when we sleep, so the sound from this air conditioner doesn't disturb us at all. It was 112 degrees Fahrenheit outside, so needless to say, the house was unbearably hot inside. My air conditioner broke down, and the repairman came to tell me that it was broken and it would take at least a month to repair/replace, which means I would be without an air conditioner for 3 weeks.
