I nearly returned it because the pump only works with sunlight and I got frustrated moving the solar panel around trying to keep the fountain going. However, after trying some electric ones that were too powerful, I gave this one another try and it’s actually perfect for my small fountain. The water circulates well and keeps the water available for the birds and bees for most of the day. Even on overcast days it has managed to pump. Purchased this to replace my electric pump for my water feature as I do not have electricity available in this part of the yard. It works exactly as I had hoped. Wish the cord was longer so I could run it to the roof of my cabana to provide full time sun, but making do for now.

This fountain pump is very powerful, too powerful actually for a shallow birdbath, because the water will spray everywhere. But if you use only the pump and do not add any of the sprinkler heads it will shoot water straight up about 8 inches, attracting birds but not spilling over the edge.

The pump is okay but if there is any shadow on the panel AT ALL, even if it is in direct sunlight, the pump will not work. Since I have the pump powering a small water feature in a flower bed, it only works occasionally. Will be buying a different pump with a battery pack for just a little more money. In short, if you have a place to put the panel that is 100% unobstructed, then its fine. If you place the pump and anything is shading even one small cell of the solar panel, this is probably not the right setup for you. ... show more

This pump was even going when it was cloudy. Small pump but the solar panel is very nice and even has a stand. THis is my 5 th pump. Not this brand but overall and I am VERY pleased with this one.

My idea turned out great with this solar water pump. I used a 24x 16 Planter, put a a brick on the bottom for added weight. I also wrapped the brick with some tape to use the suction cups for pump. Used a very heavy duty serving tray and cut lots of drain holes and one for the tubing and bubbler. Then attached some loose fitting tie wraps to secure tray to act like a hinge. For security added some corner brackets screwed from the inside for weight of rocks and critters. Love this product came fast. Looks great. ... show more
