  • Customer Support Excellent - Solid design
Style: Rooftop Tent
Received the tent in January 2023, loaded it on the truck. I have been driving around with it for 2 months in the PNW. A few quick points : There is no manual, BoM or any other instructions. Not a big deal since in is largely pre-assembled and easy to figure out bits and pieces, just odd. Hard to get a hold of manufacture? After driving around, I check inside and there was water. Not sure where or how but the seals must leak. Generally, roomy and very east to set-up. Good design will write update after we have a few trips under our belt. Update 1/2024: Had some issues with water leaking into the tent when closed. Contacted the customer service and they quickly responded to my issues. The tent design is very good, and we made several trips (WA, CA, NN, TX, AR, AZ NC MT) with the dog and had no issues in storms and hot days. Very quick to setup. They have made a number of significant improvements in the last year: LED lights, easier latches, new pole design, more ventilation, more inside pockets and better overall finish. I would recommend this tent and buy again. ... show more

  • If you're not sure about RTTs, start here!
Style: Rooftop Tent
We decided on this tent over a year ago, not wanting to dump $4k on a tent that we could end up hating. I could have never known how much I would love this tent and our adventures. All of the pictures you see are different places in WA, and a rooftop tent (RTT) has opened up so many possibilities for us! Beyond the adventure, this tent is superiors surprising high quality for the price point. I will start with saying we are not kind to any type of equipment we own. We destroy zippers and latches, break buckles, and wear through just about anything. This tent has stood up to all the abuse we can muster. Everything still works a year later. It's still waterproof, it's still easy to set up, it's extremely warm and comfortable to sleep in. We did add some interlocking foam tiles under the mattress for more comfort, and I think we'll add a thin air mattress between the two next year. But we're both old and side sleepers. We are thinking of upgrading to a larger tent in the next couple years, and I'm kinda hoping Topoak puts out other designs. I've been that happy with their product. I would buy another tent from them in a heartbeat. ... show more

  • First impressions!!
Style: Rooftop Tent
I know most of you want to know the nitty gritty stuff on this RTT so here goes… Some flaws but easy to fix or replace. *color* The tent material is not black! If you live in the seattle area it’s more like a wet sand color. Mid dark grey. *Ladder hooks* looks to be very thin but surprisingly strong. I’m 200lbs and I have not seen any type of stress on the hooks so far. If they ever break you can order a new ladder from roofnest. They have the same mounting style. *opening in the fabric* They made this tent so you can zip off the outter material but where it connects theres a small opening when the tent is open. When it’s closed I’m not sure if water will get through the seal if you’re driving in the rain. The opening is up in the front of the tent by the hinge brackets. Also a easy fix. Just get some flex tape and tape the front or use some fabric tape on the inside to close it. *The supporting poles* There are two poles that come with the tent that help support extend and keep the arch open. They are meh. Would be better with a telescopic pole. The U shape mount where you connect to the arch pole seems like they will break after some use. Already seeing some stress marks in the plastic after installing it 3 times. *Overall of the build* Pretty decently built! When the entire tent is closed and locked it’s very hard to get a finger through the rubber seals. The hard shell is very strong and sturdy! Was able to stand on top of the hard shell no problem without it flexing. Locks are easy to use and isn’t hard to close. Yes! There is no manual to put this tent together but it’s very simple to figure out what goes where. Everything is basically preassembled. Just need to add the closing handle to the outside and you’re done. Ladder mounts already mounted to both sides. A couple of bags with 4 L brackets are for the crossbars. The hardware for them will be in a box. You will get 2 aluminum crossbars that will be plastic wrapped together in the tent with all of your hardware. Comes with a bag of accessory mounts to fit in the side channels if you ever want to add more accessories to the side. Will write another post if any issues pop up when I take this out in the rain/snow. Only giving it 3 stars because I want to know how it holds up in the PNW weather. ... show more

  • superior quality RTT with extra thick mattress and solid aluminum construction
Style: Rooftop Tent
I've been looking at RTTs for awhile, but finally made the choice on this one and was happy with the product for several reasons. My girlfriend and I go on extended camping trips around the Southwest US and Pacific Northwest, so we needed one that was comfortable and could stand up to constant use. Factors that were important to us were: 1) mattress quality - a lot of these tents have poor quality mattresses under 5cm that just don't hold up for a big guy like me, this one has 7cm of good quality foam with an underlayment that avoids condensation build up (a real factor on cold nights), 2) all aluminum build - the extruded aluminum parts are robust and have tracks for various accessories and the corner connectors are solid, 3) more space - this model has a "cantilevered" section at the back so it's just a lot roomier when there are two people inside and you want to stretch out, I wouldn't lean back on it but the overall impression is you have a lot more room, 4) high quality zippers - all the zippers on this tent are a good size and the elastic pullbacks for the doors and windows keep stuff out of the way when you're going in and out, and I expect these will hold up to the elements and repeated use over the years, 5) the "sky" window on the back section - a lot of RTTs don't have this but it's totally awesome and really brightens up the interior. All in all, I would definitely recommend, 10/10, and very happy with it. ... show more
