  • My pool is sparkling clean
This product works. Have been struggling with my pool for weeks. I bought Pool Rx and my pool was fixed a couple of days after. All the gunk went to the filter instead of staying on the bottom.

  • Amazing
I had been fighting algae with the rain and heat in Florida. I dropped this in my pool, let the filter run overnight and all of the algae is gone and the water is crystal clear. What an absolutely amazing product.

  • Works
Great product. We had super fine algae that can’t be picked up with a vacuum. Just threw this in the pool and started seeing results pretty quickly. In about a week the results were perfect. Crystal clear sparkling water. Worth it

  • Works Fast
When I dropped the PoolRx+ orange & white 5k-7.5k gallons in to my pool I got concerned. It went straight to the bottom and let out a blue cloud of who knows what. But overnight it went to work and the next morning the thing was floating and there was a noticeable difference in the water and the liner was clearer. Works well and works quickly. ... show more

  • I'm Not A Follower Or Kool-aid Drinker, But This Is Amazing
My Ramblings My never ending search... Wait... What???... The search has ended!?!?! WooHoo! So, Let's take a closer look at this crazy magical ball that has reduced my chance of early heart failure. To the Point or TL;DR It Works and what is even crazier is I ordered the wrong size and it still works. I ordered a 5k-7.5k gallons and I have a 20k+ gallon pool. Easy to use (understatement). Clears algae filled pool quickly. How long will it last? We will see. The Good Stuff It works. I followed the instructions, balanced my pool chems, and made sure the pH was is range. My chlorine was higher than recommended, but I forged ahead anyway because of the algae bloom happening then. I put it in the skimmer basket and figured at best it wouldn't hurt. 24Hrs later, most of algae was dead on bottom of pool, so I vacuumed. 12Hrs later, the water was clear of algae and was just a touch murky, with almost nothing on pool bottom. I think if I had the correct sized PoolRx, it would have been miraculous within 24hrs, period. This saved me from a massive chlorine increase to kill off the algae and a week of adding more chlorine $$$$$$$, and more $$$$, and vacuuming and backwashing, and, $$$ and $$, and $, til finally I see the bottom (of my wallet). The Bad Stuff None. My kids and I swim in it without googles and have not noticed any diff in the pool water quality.. Except it's Not Green. Who May Use/Like It Those wanting to spend less money in chlorine and backwashing, and more time enjoying their invesment. Me Final Thoughts This truly is amazing and will become a regular purchase for my pool. I have already saved money and expect to continue to for some time to come. And there is no amount of money that compares to the reduction in worry and work on my pool quality. I'm starting to enjoy this hole in the ground. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. Hope it helps! All the best, Just Benjamin Reviewed: Brand: PoolRx+ Cost: $29.24 at time of review. PoolRx+ orange & white 5k-7.5k gallons ... show more

  • Common questions are answered below. Mostly copper. I opened it up so you don't have to.
The media could not be loaded. Any time you see "mineral" in pool supplies (mineral treatment, mineral cartridges, etc), it's code for copper. Granted, this also has trace amounts of silver and zinc, but it's mostly copper. This has a dissolvable formula in the middle (blue powder), then a copper ring on the outside. The formula will dissolve in 30 minutes or less. The treatment should last for +/- 6 months, but will eventually get filtered out. It's nontoxic. However, I personally would avoid being in the pool when it dissolves, to avoid the possibility of staining your swimsuit or irritating your skin. But again, there's no chemicals in here, and has virtually no smell - there's nothing in here that's harmful. After the formula dissolves, the only thing that remains in the ball is a copper ring (yes, it's basically just a section of copper pipe). They say keep the ball floating in your pool or hot tub. I suspect the effects of keeping it floating in your pool are negligible, but it can't hurt. A common alternative to this are solar pool ionizers (which are also copper). The solar pool ionizers are a bit different - they don't have a dissolvable solution, and they typically don't have silver or zinc. But they are more effective because the solar panel sends a tiny electrical current into the copper, releasing tiny copper ions into the water. The solar pool ionizer is my preferred approach for outdoor pools, where you have access to sunlight. They will even work in shade, though obviously not as well. For indoor hot tubs and spas, this PoolRx is a good way to go. Either method works as long as you achieve your desired copper levels. They're easy to monitor but copper test strips are not always included in pool test kits. You can also just get powdered copper and dump it in your pool or hot tub. Even better, you can get a bottle of colloidal silver and dump it in. 0.4 ppm is the upper range of where you want to be with your copper levels. Anything above that and you may have some slight bleaching to your pool walls, your swim suits, and maybe even some bleaching of blonde hair. But I've been using copper for a long time and never had a problem. PoolRx doesn't provide any guidance on copper levels. Their instructions are pretty simplistic - buy the correct size, drop in the pool, replace in 6 months. In terms of efficacy, yes copper absolutely does work to help fight algae. You still have to stay on top of your pool levels, it's not magic. But this enables you to reduce the amount of chlorine you use. Copper and silver have been used for thousands of years to treat water. 4.5 stars ... show more

  • A good copper delivery system.
Our pool has an auto cover, which minimizes extreme chemical changes and algae formation greatly. Thanks to Murphy's Law, it rained during a weekend that we were out of town and the kids didn't close the pool. The growth wasn't too bad, but it needed treatment. In a pinch, I dropped this orange and white Pool Rx ball into the pool. I also had the Red and White version, and I used it both at the same time, since our pool is ~25K gallon and together they're rated for 12.5K gallons. Within 24 hrs, the growth cleared and the liner went back to the usual color. It's stated to last 6 months, so I'll keep an eye on copper levels to see when it'll be cleared out. For "acute" algae treatment, this is a good option in a pinch. Highly recommended. ... show more
