I picked this unit up at the beginning of December. I had just acquired an '02 Subaru Forester and wanted a Bluetooth radio for hands-free calls and navigation. This unit came with a nice-looking backup camera (that I will install when it gets warmer, thank you!). I had gotten a vehicle-specific wiring harness, so the unit took about a half-hour to install, including soldering up all the wires. The unit came with information saying that I could contact support for updates, and customized boot logos, making the installation look a lot more seamless. The screen is nice and bright, and the functionality is good. The sound quality meets all my needs, though if you want to play it loud enough to make your car interior rattle (why do people do that?) you may want to add an amplifier to the installation. The fact that you can integrate with several apps on the phone for navigation, music, or calls is a very nice feature and I am very happy with the unit! ... show more

I wanted to replace the outdated single DIN head unit in my old truck. It’s a great truck but it’s a 2007 so I wasn’t interested in spending a ton of money. I just wanted something I could use with apple car play for music and navigation. The added back up camera was an added bonus. The ability to link my phone wirelessly with Apple Car Play is perfect. I hate cords dangling everywhere so being able to automatically connect to this head unit with car play without even removing the phone from my pocket is exactly what I want. Voice commands using Siri have been working well so far. That being said, you can only link one phone to the system so multiple users are out of luck without deleting and pairing a new device. There IS a USB port so I assume you could connect another device using that but I didn't try it. The provided back up camera works well but I opted for one with a more streamline factory look in the latch of the truck tailgate. The backup camera system works flawlessly. I also added a front camera since my newer car has 360 cameras I’ve discovered it’s a nice feature to have available. The system works well with my existing speakers, amp and subwoofer but I’ll admit I need to get the subwoofer dialed in again after installing the new head unit. I’ll take care of that once I have an extra set of hands to help me make adjustments. The vendor was very responsive to email and was willing to send me the latest firmware updates as well as a custom boot up logo and custom wallpaper from a photo I took. All in all I’m extremely satisfied with this purchase so far. Everything I need with a few nice extras that are nice to have. Installation was as simple as matching the colored wires and soldering good connections and it is a vast improvement in aesthetics to the Kenwood single DIN it replaced. I am completely satisfied and may actually buy another one for my other old truck. The photos are from before I secured the trim. Long winded review but is it really a review of a product if you just complain about the packaging or shipping which has nothing to do with the actual product? This product was indeed well packed and shipped quickly. Again, no complaints. If you are looking for a reasonably priced product that seems to do everything its supposed to do with what so far seems like great customer support I would suggest you consider this one. I will update the photos when I update the custom boot logo and wallpaper. I can't wait to see how it looks! ... show more

Bought this to replace the defective OEM stereo in my friend's 2016 Jeep Patriot. There is an amazing amount of functionality packed into this small and relatively inexpensive unit. The backup camera has very good image quality, and there is no delay when activating it. Sound quality and volume are both very good. I have tested this unit with both Android (Google Pixel) and iPhone, and it connects nearly instantaneously via Bluetooth when the vehicle starts up. Support from PLZ has been great. I requested a Jeep power-on logo, and they sent it to me within hours via email. They also sent me the latest firmware. Updating both was a quick and easy process. There's absolutely no reason to spend more money on a "brand name" unit, when this one does everything you could possibly need. We have had extremely cold temperatures here lately, and the unit has been performing perfectly. Hopefully it will survive summertime heat, as well! ... show more

Installation instructions were very clear and everything works well. Sound quality is very good and the radio is very usably snappy. The only things I DON’T like are that there is no onboard digital crossover options and after going through all the work of running the wiring under my frame rails, the backup camera wouldn’t activate no matter what I tired. I love the way it boots the car logo when I put in the key and immediately connects to me phone, but it will often just start playing music automatically, whether I want it or not, so I often will have to pause it manually when I get it. The screen is crisp and clear, and it checks one of my personal requirements; a physical volume knob. I run subs and when you’re cruising through a neighborhood, the slow tap tap of a button doesn’t cut it. You need to me able to just turn it down, and you can with this radio. The preamps work well, if you amplify and have external crossovers, this radio stands next to a top of the line Kenwood. Unlike a Kenwood, which has internal crossover options, I couldn’t find a way to do so with this radio with it’s provided software. Perhaps a firmware update could remedy that. To install the boot logo, you have to email the company and tell them what you have, and within a day or so, they’ll send you a file. I haven’t yet been able to actually install the boot logo myself, as you must use an 8-32gb USB drive and the smallest one I’ve been able to find in my local stores is a 64gb. Probably the biggest overall issue is the microphone. There is no port to add an external mic, and the one included on the face of the radio just doesn’t cut it. Siri can’t understand me unless the truck is off, windows up, and everyone I talk to says it sounds like I’m underwater or something. Overall, I’m a stickler for audio quality and reliability. I don’t want to have to wait forever for a screen to load. This radio is above and beyond for this price point, and I am quite happy with my purchase. ... show more
