This one has a nice protective layer you can clearly see underneath. This protector is soft, not hot or sweaty, it NO IT DOES NOT make noise. It has a slightly soft bamboo feeling to the top of it which I really like, but it's a protector, not a topper so it's not very thick of course. It will not change the feel of your mattress. So remember that. This protector is really nice quality and fits nice and tight with no movement and plenty of extra room. I currently have a 14.5 inch mattress it covers. So really stop right there. Bought this to replace an expensive mattress cover purchased from a mattress store. This cover was almost identical in fabric materials and was extremely comfortable. It is waterproof but it is it quiet when you move around on the mattress. I washed it but it did take a long time to dry due to the waterproof materials. No funny smells upon receipt. Quality appears good. Great value for the promises made by the manufacturer. Time/usage will tell. I will be back with an updated review should this mattress pad wear/fail prematurely. Always wash a mattress pad upon receipt; good way to monitor quality straight away.

I bought this protector a few months ago for my four-year-old’s bed because she had a few accidents overnight and her old mattress protector did not prevent moisture from getting through. Thankfully, she has not had any accidents since putting this protector on, but my two year-old tested the limits this morning when he dumped water on his sister in her bed. This mattress protector prevented ANY water or moisture from getting through. He emptied a good 5-7 ounces on her, to the point there was a water puddle on her sheet. I thought for sure her mattress was going to be soaked, but it was completely dry. I am still amazed that this protector blocked everything. I hadn’t yet left a review because we didn’t know how well it worked.
