  • One of the only USB hubs with two quick charge ports
I ended up getting this Pluggable USB hub after looking extensively for one that had QC ports that were also actual USB ports. Most of the hubs with charging ports, the charging ports are not USB, just charging ports. This one actually has two ports that can deliver a fairly rapid charge AND also connect to the parent USB port, making it perfect for charging AND connecting phones without swapping ports. Also, those ports work great on a USB powered Blu Ray drive without having to use extra power plug. I did have to exchange my first one as the left charge port didn't connect to USB (but it did charge), the replacement is working excellent. I also like the ports are on the side, making the jumble of cables more manageable than pointing upwards. Not full 3A USB-C charging speed, but I do at least get a "charging" indicator on my Pixel, instead of the "slowly charging" I get from other powered hubs. Overall, it has excellent features and works well for the price. ... show more

  • Just what I needed
Perfect size for my desk, the cord length could be a little longer, but perfect with performance and supper compact

  • Good product, will fail eventually though.
I'll cut to the chase. I recommend these, but know they have a lifespan of about 4 and change years and will fail. I've been using two of these since March 2019. It's December 2023 at the time of writing. One of them failed in September this year and the second one failed a few minutes ago. I still recommend them for 2 reasons: a) The form factor. I like that the power/data port is on the back and the hub ports are on the front, as opposed to power/data on the end and hub ports out the top. I fixed mount these in drawers in my desk and route the power/data cables through the back of my drawer cabinet. This way the only thing facing the user is the ports and it has a flat profile so it doesn't matter what I'm plugging in, I'll never have clearance issues in my drawers. b) The cables aren't proprietary. This means you can get longer USB cables or replace the power supply with a standard 12v/3a power supply if you don't like the wall wart it comes with or need to do something custom with it. I had hoped we'd have an updated model supporting USB 3.2 and faster transfer speeds/higher power delivery in this form factor. Transfer speeds are a bit slower than I'd like versus what's available nowadays. But this works as advertised so I can't knock it for that. For those interested- The failure mode seems to be a power issue within the unit. Despite my comment above about buying your own power supply, I've only ever used the power adaptors that came with it and they are still working fine. The unit itself is what failed. It just stops functioning entirely, as if it's not plugged in at all. I opened the unit up to see if there were any obvious burnt out components but didn't see anything. Both failed in identical fashion several months apart so it's reasonable to assume this will be predominant mode of failure for these. Not sure on the cause. ... show more

  • A high quality device that is worth the price
This is a well-made, fully featured hub. The black plastic has a clean, simple practical shape. The printed logo is unobtrusive. The indicator lights are blue and small, bright enough to see, but not distracting. The on/off switch is a power saver and a safety feature in the event of the need for an emergency shutdown of the attached devices. The USB ports are spaced far enough apart to make plugin and pullout of the connectors easy. The power cord leading to the transformer and the cord leading from the hub to the computer are long enough to allow for convenient placement of the hub. The power supply is strong. I have used four external SATA hard drives simultaneously along with a USB powered fan and they all worked perfectly, recognized immediately and files read and transferred without problem. I cannot speak to transfer rate because I use this with an old (Dell Latitude 830) computer with USB 2.0 ports on a Windows XP system. I am satisfied that this is one of the best, if not the best, USB 3.0 hub on the market. ... show more

  • Another quality Plugable product
I have a couple of other Plugable products and decided to try this one. Was just what I needed, simply plug the USB cable into your computer/laptop and power the hub and you're off and running. I use this hub with a wireless mouse receiver and a plugable USB to HDMI cable, both work flawlessly.

  • Good hub; great--no, fantastic support
Update 2: Plugable support was amazing--five star. They shipped me a new replacement USB hub in short order which works perfectly. Update 1: It worked perfectly for 18 months, then it stopped working (no, it's not the power adapter). So far Plugable support is *excellent*. This is a great USB hub. I'm thrifty; so instead of buying a new mATX case, I'm using an ancient eMachines case with only usb 2.0 ports on the front but significantly upgraded guts. This USB hub lives on top of the case providing USB 3.0 connectivity on all 7 ports as well as device charging via the outer two ports. ... show more

  • Died after roughly 2 years of very gentle treatment
I purchased this hub in late 2018 and was fairly pleased with its design and construct. I placed it on my desk, plugged in external power and used it as an extension to provide closer access to various peripherals over the span of its use. About a month ago, devices plugged into this hub would randomly power off and not be recognized by the OS. At first I thought it was a power problem, so I did some extensive testing on the transformer and found no major issues. Out of an abundance of caution I replaced it with another transformer that was rated comparably. Same result. Today the hub no longer recognizes any device plugged into any port. If you want something that will last for a short period and will work well, this might be for you, but if you want something that will last as long as a reasonable low-demand device ought to, shop elsewhere because this is 100% junk. It is worth noting that I have a plethora of different USB hubs for various purposes and applications throughout my technology collection. None of them have had this problem, and most of them are older than this. I do not believe that USB hubs ought to be disposable, and find this outcome to be totally unacceptable. ... show more
