No, I didn't mess up but you sure will if you don't stop and pay attention to the small silk screened diagram printed on the circuit board indicating the pointer direction for the tiny adjustment dials. You will easily get everything out of whack if you aren't careful because there is no obvious indicator. Other than that, this controller works flawlessly for me. I was able to adjust it perfectly for the space, brightness, and duration I wanted on the first try. We purchased this motion detector to be used with under-cabinet lights in our kitchen. It works perfect! With the one we had previously, the lights would go out after thirty seconds, then wait five seconds, then the lights would come back on. We love the fact that with this one, as long as it detects motion, it stays on! Also love the feature that you can set it to how long after the last motion is detected it stays on. Bought 2 of these...1st one failed after 6 months...2nd one after 5 weeks...they will no longer turn anything off no matter how the settings are adjusted :(

The description I saw originally included "indoor/outdoor" which is why I bought this brand instead of the others that looked just like it (my mistake). That turned out to be bogus. The 240° field-of-view (fov) was likewise not true in any useful sense, 90° maximum at 10ft. 10ft was the max range at 90°. The claim of 39ft was only valid directly in front of the sensor. Still it was marginally suitable for my application until the rain killed the plug/receiver which was partially shielded. I tried drying it under a fan for a day after shaking about ½tsp of water out. Then in a bag of white rice for a couple of days, but it remained dead. Ultimately it was garbage. ... show more

I have a work counter and tool storage area in my garage that while I have a overhead Strip Light, I have to plug it it in when I need the light. This simple device only requires a small plug-in receptacle that will pare up to the battery operated motion sensor. The sensor can be installed wherever it needs to be to automatically turn the light on and when you leave - it automatically shuts off! ... show more
