    • The tablet is great
Some basics: This tablet will start to overheat if you're driving directly into the sun on a very hot day, but it does so slower and recovers much faster than your phone in the same situation. For what it is, this tablet does have great little speakers for watching TV or movies. The tablet does not have it's own battery, you will need to keep it plugged in at all times; meaning that if you plan on taking it with you as a mobile accessory, you will need a power bank that recognizes it. The tablet does not connect to your car for you, it connects to your phone which connects to your car. You cannot sync this to your cars Bluetooth, just FYI. -Pros: Unbeatable price point. Works flawlessly. You will probably need to press the "use original audio" button on it if you're connecting via Bluetooth, again, just FYI. Touch screen is very responsive. Customer support is incredible. -Cons: You may realize it's a little small for your tastes after you've installed it. The ladies know what I'm talking about... Alright. The stand that currently comes with the tablet is not great. It requires you use an adhesive to attach it to your dash board, meaning that once you've got it in place, it's there. I thought I had it where I liked it, but it certainly could have been placed better if I've driven around before installing it. My stand is also warped and doesn't hold the tablet well. Plimpton customer service immediately offered to replace it. When they realized they were out of the suction cup stands, they sent me a $15 gift card and a link to a competitors suction cup bracket... That's pretty dedicated. All things considered, for sub $70, you simply cannot do better. If you want a navigation screen and the Android Auto bells and whistles without the $2000 upgrade costs on a new car stereo (I make plenty, I love my PAID OFF 2008 edge), this is the peripheral for you... maybe... as long as you don't think you'd like a larger screen, which is the only real caveat. ... show more

The sound quality is good, and it connects to your phone very, very easily. Also, it has no lag, which is something I experienced with other GPS's. The responsiveness is immediate and it comes with a mount you can put on your car! Very recommended.

    • Stand Alone Blue Tooth Operation
I purchased this item with the intention of using it as a stand-alone Apple Car Play. Maybe I didn't read carefully enough but, the instructions require a car with Wi-Fi to set it up. I tried numerous times and even got my Son who works for a big tech company to try and connect to my iPhone. No such luck. I sent it back So far, I have not found a stand-alone Apple Car play that will work independently of a cars entertainment system. ... show more

    • Good Carplay display/controller for older vehicles
I have a 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee that has limited Apple Iphone compatibility. This device will connect to my Iphone 14 via bluetooth and then switches to WIFI for actual control and streaming. It was easy to set up. The device will only play audio to its own internal speakers, FM radio station, or audio output cable. I found the audio thru the FM modulator to be bass heavy and even after adjusting the EQ level of the bass all the way down on the unit. The cable connection works cleanly - but not a fan of having a cable hanging down in from of my car stereo to plug into the aux radio jack. I have some right angle 1/8" jacks coming to tuck the audio cable in closer to the dash. No perfect, but a big upgrade for my 2011 vehicle. ... show more

    • Great for older vehicles. Voice assistant doesn’t work.
offers basically the same function of other units (except cameras) for a cheaper price. Only issues I’ve found are that the sound is sometimes quiet when listening to podcasts (connected via aux) and voice input doesn’t work at all.
