I had originally given this item One Star. I am now revising my review to account for user error. There is a whole novel's worth of experiences behind this item. I purchased this way back in March of 2023. It arrived beat up but since it didn't appear to affect the functionality of the item we kept it. We tried all summer to get someone to do the plumbing for it. Everyone we called either refused or no showed, so we did it ourselves. It wasn't hard, we have a full basement. Then we couldn't get the unit to light. We got a new thermocoupler, we cleaned everything, we double and triple checked that we had gas in the line. We had given up then he decided to check the back of the unit one more time before taking it completely apart. My dear husband had removed the blue cap but not the actual screw in plug the manufacture puts in it for protection during shipping. No, this man had the line scewed in with the plug in place. Once he removed the plug, he ran to the hardware store for one small adapter piece and now we have flame. It works perfect. Now I do have to tell ya'all something weird. I cannot smell the rotton egg smell the company puts in natural gas. That being said, I do smell something when this is on. It's not gas though, it smells wet. Nothing I've read says anything about this so I am not concerned. It puts out a ton of heat, the thermostat works perfectly. I bought the blower for this item too and it's pretty quiet. Overall, in spite of the fact my husband didn't fully read the manual which clearly states the plug must be removed before use, I am pleased with this product. ... show more

Good little heater for the price. Only complaint is no remote or digital temp control. There is a dial you have to turn and find the right setting for your home. Also bought the blower. You have to manually turn that on and off each time. Overall good value, gets really warm and looks pretty good. I had a problem with the temperature control cover latching closed, eneded up being a broken magnet- they issued a partial refumd right away, i was able to get a replacement magnet free from the manufacturer. very happy with ... show more

It's compact and puts out lots of heat and nicely complements my living room. The optional blower which i bought, installed very easily. Problems, the magnet that holds the control panel cover isn't strong enough. If you walk near, it will fall down. The other is the control knob sticks sometimes and won't turn to start the fire. The recommended blower is very noticeable and I won't turn it on if I want to relax near the fireplace. ... show more

Working from a 200 gallon propane tank which lasts us about two and a half months on the coldest months. Last year we used it to heat our whole house ( 1100 sq ft) for about four months. Does a great job and also keeps the humidity up. We back it up with a carbon monoxide detector and a propane leak detector and neither one has gone off. Very Satisfied. ... show more

    • EDIT: Spend a little or a lot more money and get something better
EDIT II: The flame has gone out on the "3" setting and the gas continued to run. EDIT: Twice the stove flame has gone out on setting "2". Which means you get one setting with this stove, 3 - 5 (see below). If it can be returned or exchanged that is what I will do. Heats well and quickly. A thermostat would be nice and there's no indication that the pilot light is ignited so it's a guessing game but it's consistent and not unsafe. Also, the lighting and flame adjustment mechanisms are under the stove so if getting down on the floor is a problem for you get something fancier. Finally, the control knob is graduated 1 - 5 but all the adjustment occurs between settings 1 -2. There's no discernible difference in the flame or heat output on settings 3 -5 than if the stove is set on 2. But it's the least expensive option and the stove heats the area well now in the mid-fall. ... show more

5 stars. For the money, spectacular, was following this unit when it was $499 before the holidays, so $349.99 was a great deal. Arrived quickly, three days after order, assembly was simple, hook up to propane also simple. Looks very nice, flame is soft and realistic looking. Operating the unit is very easy. I understand the comment(s) about bending over to turn the unit on and receiving broken logs (sucks) but this unit is as nice, functionally, as units I was looking at for double and triple the price. The heat coming out of the unit is very warm and the blower just adds more to the capability. The blower when on high is not quiet but is functionally excellent. The unit is warm to the touch on top and on the sides, but not hot. If you want a remote thermostat control then you will need to pay for it, hundreds of dollars more on a different unit. My 2 cents, best bang for the buck I have gotten in quite a while and if want to heat your cold space quickly this is a great option. Will update if anything changes. ... show more
