To whom it may concern; My PS5 stopped powering on a few days ago, before my birthday last week. It was so disappointing. I hoped it was the socket or that it would start working again wishfully but I had no such luck. It has been very disheartening as I thought hard about making this purchase having not owned a gaming console in over 10 years even though I was a very enthusiastic gamer growing up and people would praise me for my powers. As such I internalize the ambition of gaming professionally and creating content. I was excited to resurface these ambitions with the PS5 over any other console as the early models made an awesome impression on me and I wanted to try some of the games I saw being advertised like Street fighters, Dragon Ball Sparking Zero, and Ghost of Tsushima to name a few. The few weeks I was able to use my PS5 were amazing. I bought Ghost of Tsushima and Seikiro, although I hardly got to play them. I also bought and mostly played Kakarot since Dragonball Sparking Zero is still a bit too expensive for me right now. To have tasted what I was missing makes me miss it now that I don't have it (Makes me think of that question: does it hurt more to never have something or to have had it and lost it?). I alerted Amazon and it looks like they are going to replace the PS5 thankfully, however, looks like that won't be until March for some reason, in any event, it was a relief for now and I will keep this comment updated. Amazon's Customer Service has been very helpful and nice in assisting! ...So amazon sent the new one in just a few days! The only bummer was my shipping company delayed it and I had to pay customs again :( Amazon Customer Service must get another kudos regardless! The new item has been working fine since I got it and they really looked out and made the process smooth and speedy! As of Feb 5 2025 changing this 3 star review to a 5 because once it works the PS5 is awesome and Amazon's was awesome can't stretch that enough! I only signed up for prime since it was free ;) but seems like it is more than worth it! ... show more

I've been waiting to upgrade to PS5 for over a year, and this $424 price made me feel the time is right. To be fair my old PS4 worked totally fine except a few games only support PS5 e.g. BG3, FF16. I was very happy with this purchase because many games were much faster running on PS5. Loading games, or switching scenes became almost instant. The data transfer from PS4 to PS5 took 24 hours (unbelievable) but it worked. None of my badges or trophies were lost. Also now I have 1TB storage, and for the time being no longer have to struggle with which games to delete before installing new ones. I think Sony itself said PS5 is probably the end game - the console is just quite hard to get much better than this. I'm glad I have it now and look forward to all the evenings enjoying the awesome games. ... show more

My family loves gaming and the new PS5 takes it to a whole new level!! I love it comes with astrology playroom and then of course we bought the rest of those games. We like having disc option instead of digital. We still have lots of disc play left to do. PS5 is awesome. I mostly play Stardew Valley with my wife haha. My son is hyped and it is all working perfectly after sorting out all of the login stuff. I finally got a PS5 for my son over Black Friday. He was super stoked, it was the Fortnight edition deal and he's a big Fortnite fan. Anyways, for some reason I left the fortnite card with the code for those perks in the box and my wife went on a cleaning frenzy and threw it out without me realizing. I know it's a big ask and probably seems like a scam or something but if anyone bought that same edition and has no use for the fortnight loot, that would be super appreciative if I could get that code for my son. I know it's not very likely but I just feel horrible about losing it. I guess you can't get those particular skins any more from the shop. Anyways, happy holidays all. ... show more
