For a while, I've been wanting to own a PlayStation 2 just so I can go back and relive the nostalgia with the games I've played growing up, and when I finally got it I was absolutely filled with joy to have the console in my hands for the first time in nearly a decade. As far as the console itself went, it looked to be in really good shape. I did have to disassemble the console since it looked very dirty on the inside, but after spending some time cleaning it up it has worked wonders so far. The controller works fine, just the D-Pad can be a bit unresponsive to where I have to press down pretty hard on the right one specifically if I'm trying to tweak some settings in-game or on the system in general. Good thing I ordered a extra controller as a backup. So far, so good when it comes to the PS2. Hasn't given me any problems, especially since I had to disassemble it to give it a good cleaning. Thanks for everyone's honest reviews. Unfortunately for me I didn't read them in time. The unit I received the laser didn't work. The controller cord was damaged but it worked. Lucky for me that I ordered a free mcboot memory card when I ordered this. I watched some videos on YouTube to learn how to use it. Amazingly I was able to make it work. The game played just like it was on disc. No lagging or anything. Also you need a usb stick for your games. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. System loads and plays games fine. No loud noises and memory card slots work. System looks great. Very happy with this purchase.

Works better than expected. The PS2 is a great console with classic games. No complaints from me. Always make sure you check for games you would want to play before buying a console. (WARNING) The slim version can get really hot. Also make sure you are buying from a trusted seller and that the console is in PERFECT working condition. Trust me you don't want a half functioning PS2. I had bought a PS2 earlier but it would only play half of the games I had and it wouldn't even play my favorite game (Tenchu: Wrath of Heaven) so I needed a replacement. Great, classic, console. 4 stara is only because the packaging was a little wonky and the controller didn't function well (pressing some buttons automatically triggers others, suggesting a mechanical issue.) But the system arrived early with everything included, and since I haven't contacted the company about a replacement, I can't get too upset. Model number was a little older than I'd hoped for, but since the model number wasn't included in the description, I can't fault the seller for that. System seemed a little dirty, but the cords were wrapped well and the system seems to run fine. ... show more

Who ever cleaned this did a great job ! Runs like brand new and looks like brand new! I knew it came with a controller but I didn’t know it came with a memory card so that was a good surprise!

It works okay with the game I got there is a glitch when playing a certain part of the game I am not sure if it's the PlayStation 2 or if it's the game.and it will not read certain movies and when I tried a movie that some people would call scary it said to change the parental control but it would not let me even when I tried the code that the technician said to use and it didn't come with instructions ... show more

I love the PS2. It has games that give me childhood nostalgia (talking about you Kingdom Hearts). When my first PS2 broke down I was devastated and at the time (early 2017) I thought there would be no more PS2's or people would sell them for so much money that I wouldn't be able to live in my place without running into rent problems. Then comes Amazon, I go online search up some PS2's and I find one for a reasonably good price and without hesitation I order it. I wait a few days and then I get a package in the mail but something looked off. There was a huge tear in the packaging and I got very scared. I carefully opened up the package and slid out the PS2 and found out that there was a HUGE crack that led to exposure of the hardware inside the PS2. I was LIVID, firstly I just got the damn thing in the mail and its ALREADY damaged when there was no indication on the Amazon post saying it was damaged. I went and messaged the sellers and told them the situation and they didn't care since they had already got my money for it. The PS2 itself works alright, but with that crack and how the sellers did nothing to help me with what happened, I give this rating a 1 star and if I could I would make it a 0 star rating. ... show more
