  • Great little Head unit!
Style: DMH-W3050NEX
Great little head unit! I bought this for my daughter's 2011 Camry XLE. It's a relatively new model so I'm not surprised there will be some mixed reviews out there. I did not buy the wiring harness, adapter kits or the iDatalink Maestro RR Interface Module, (I bought them elsewhere) The initial setup with the iDatalink was a bit of a process and getting all the correct cables hooked up was also a chore but once everything was setup, it worked like a charm. My daughter loves all the features, Apple Car Play, GPS (off phone) and all the apps available. I was impressed with the quick screen response and the crispness of the display. Thinking about getting one for my truck. ... show more

  • Very nice radio
Style: DMH-W4660NEX
Easy to use and setup has a lot of compatibility and features to use. Backup camera screen is very clear. The user interface is easy to use and understand. The radio also is very sleek and looks factory in my car

  • Pricy
Style: DMH-W4660NEX
Simple, unit is pricy but it does feature a full EQ with adjustability, and many more features packed in there. I will agree with most my WIRELESS CarPlay is glitchy and will sometimes drop, but I tend to use the usb for charging anyways. One star down for not being able to program CarPlay properly. Otherwise very densely packed with features. ... show more

  • I would not buy any Pioneer product again.
Style: DMH-W4660NEX
This unit is half baked. The icons on the left for menu, mic, and volume don't work. Getting a software update to transfer is impossible using the directions. Android Auto keeps crashing. When it does not crash, it is very frustrating to use. The users manual is lacking. When playing in Bluetooth music you cannot fast forward or advance whereas previous ones would allow me to touch the timeline to put the focus on where I wanted it USB instead of Wi-Fi connection doesn't work with Android auto Bluetooth does not reliably play audio after connecting. Generally the solution is to turn off the car and turn it back on. I wish there was a power button on the stereo unit itself to reboot the stereo without having to reboot the car. When in Bluetooth, Guidance is not a separate volume control. There's only one volume control for Bluetooth. However that is not using Android Auto.. With wireless disabled, connecting phone via USB cable, Android Auto stops functioning and indicates to get the time to match between the stereo and phone. The stereo does not allow me to manually change the time. And it will not sync the time with cell phone connected via USB. I clicked on the browser and it gave me a gray rectangular box across the screen. Turning off the car, even overnight, did not help. A day later, it came out of its coma somehow. These are just a few of the issues I’ve had. I called Pioneer support and they do not provide tech support on the phone. They said the only thing I can do is to uninstall the stereo and send it in to one of two service centers. My worst nightmare. I have 30 years of IT so I feel sorry for anyone who buys this flaming pile of crap and tries to get anything to work. ... show more

  • Amazing head unit!!
Style: DMH-W4660NEX
This Pioneer has been out for a few years, so I feel for the people that had any issues due to buggy firmware since its release. But I guess I got lucky buying this now in 2024. Had a model under this one, the Pioneer 2770NEX, and it was excellent as well. But this not only sounds better. But it’s loaded with way more features to customize your audio settings. Time alignment, crossover slopes, etc. Wireless CarPlay works flawlessly. And the 4V pre-outs for my 5 channel amp made a huge difference. If you’re looking at this in 2024, it’s absolutely worth it. For an all in one solution for steering wheel controls and back up camera retention, I highly suggest you get a harness from Spiral Audio. ... show more

  • 2005 4Runner no JBL
Style: DMH-W3050NEX
I just installed it on my 2005 4Runner with the masetro harness and RR2 datalink worked great! Pretty easy to install plus recommend getting the PO1 connector so you don’t need to cut cables from the harness to the stereo.

  • I love it and I hate it
Style: DMH-W4660NEX
I was very excited to finally get this head unit and put it in my 2014 Honda Civic. Having android auto had been a goal for my car got a while. This is a nice looking radio and after installation I found that it actually puts out a decent amount if power. I never confirmed any numbers, but I noticed my stock speakers seem to be performing better than before, which is great. It has lots of integration options for gauges, cameras, sensors, you can see check engine light codes, etc. Internet connectivity via your phone. Notifications are supported from certain apps. I installed it paired with the iDatalink Maestro RR and the rHO2 wiring harness. Keep in mind, the wiring harness shows conflicting year models on the box, but the iDatalink website shows it is compatible with a wider year range. The box showed it wouldn't work with my car, but the website said it would and it did. Installation was intimidating at first, but in the end, pretty easy. Wiring diagrams are available on the idatalink website and now I have steering wheel control for audio. I didn't wire my backup camera, but will likely do that later on. The downsides I've experienced with it have been frustrating, but I'm working through them. Immediately after install, I tested the radio with no issues. On first start up after buttoning everything up, my dash lit up like a Christmas tree. After some minor panic, I saw all the lights were related to various sensors and inputs that run through the radio. After a few times turning the car off and on, they cleared on their own. To be fair, my battery was disconnected for 3 days prior which may have been a factor. However, my TPMS system isn't working. I'm unable to calibrate it and can't get a readout on tire pressure. This seems like a common issue people have had and I'm still troubleshooting it. Another issue is firmware updates. To update firmware, you have to connect the radio to your phone via wifi Hotspot, and download the update via the CarAVAssist app. The app has a poorly built user interface and it took me a very long time to get the radio to connect my phone (S23 Ultra). Finally after restarting my phone and disabling Android auto temporarily, I was able to get it to connect. Then you have to go into the firmware update menu in order for the radio to receive the update. This took me forever to get sorted, but finally did. The user interface is alright. I mostly keep it on the Android auto screen and haven't used a lot of the other features yet. I've found that the touch screen is responsive, but not smooth when moving between screens. Considering it's a touch screen, wifi-enabled, smart device bought new in 2024, I expected smoother swiping like my phone, but I'm not a software engineer, so what do I know. One last thing, this morning on my drive to work, the head unit disconnected from my phone and I lost Android auto. I had to restart my phone and manually connect it from my phone. I just updated the firmware last night. Could be a fluke, but we'll see. The love: -Audio Quality Improved -Android Auto -Finally have a touch Screen infotainment system -Looks great -lots of integration options The Hate: -User interface could use improvement -Phone connectivity for firmware updates is a huge headache -Compatability issues with car features like TPMS ... show more
