  • It's very good
Size: 24000 BTU - 208/230 V
Easy to install, quiet, and efficient

  • Great unit and very efficient
Size: 24000 BTU - 208/230 V
Love this mini split. For the money I don’t think it can be beat. Heats and cools flawlessly. Comparable to other full systems in ability to heat and cool rooms. Great remote. One thing I am glad I did was have a professional install. If you choose professional install have that cost in mind and quotes when deciding which direction to go. Took my hvac company 2 days to install. No issues with install just a bit technical. Having the outside wall mount for the compressor was defiantly the right idea vs getting a pad installed. ... show more

  • Great heat pump so far!
Size: 24000 BTU - 208/230 V
I bought this ages ago but work has kept me from installing it in a timely manner, but I finally got it done recently! I highly recommend getting someone who knows what they're doing and already has the tool to install this. I only did it myself because all the hvac guys in my area refuse to install mini-splits. I swear it cose me more to buy the tools to do this than it would have to have someone else do the work. Anyway, it's been running for almost a week and it produces plenty of heat. I'm sure it'll do great during the summer when I need cold air as well! //UPDATE It's now March and I assume the worst of Winter is over. The cold snap got down to around -8 F, which is about as cold as it ever gets here. This unit kept my poorly insulated house a comfortable 68 F. It did have to run constantly, but my electric bill was still far lower than I expected. It's a reasonably efficient unit. ... show more

  • Doesn’t work very well / no customer support
Size: 24000 BTU - 208/230 V
This is definitely easy enough to set up until you are connecting the line set. It’s best if you vacuum set the line set before snugging them and this will come at an additional $100. While adjusting the lines I accidentally pinched the high pressure line and created a massive refrigerant leak. I repaired the line and reconnected it but no longer had enough refrigerant to cool my shop. I needed to recharge the unit and called several local AC repair companies. When I mentioned I installed it myself, they backed away completely from offering any help. One company was up front and told me that they required $1400 up front to leak test the system before they would even do anything. One company told me to contact Pioneer for assistance which I did. I received no response at all. So at the time of this writing I would say that Pioneer has poor customer service. The short time the unit worked, it was quiet and did a reasonable job cooling my shop. However as I didn’t vacuum set the lines, the best low temp I could get from the inside unit was 60 degrees. I bought a MrCool for my house at the same time and after installation, the lowest temp I recorded from the inside unit is around 45 degrees! MrCool out performs Pioneer 100 fold! All in all, even though the Pioneer is less expense, I won’t purchase one again nor recommend. In fact, I will probably replace the Pioneer with a MrCool next summer. ... show more

  • Make sure hole placement is right
Size: 24000 BTU - 208/230 V
The card board template suggests that the thru wall hole be on the side of the wiring / display/ digital readout when looking at the unit mounted on the wall , however the low/ high lines in the back suggest the connection be made from incoming lines to the left. So when looking at the unit I installed the thru hole is on the left. this made the lines connection effortless. Also buy the flush kit in the suggested parts it works well. ... show more

  • "extraordinarily" quiet model
Size: 24000 BTU - 208/230 V
Very impressed with this unit. Arrived very well packed/strapped on a pallet via freight carrier. The 16’ installation kit that came with the unit was long enough to complete the installation in my case. I recommend to purchase the Decorative PVC Wide Line Cover Kit to cover the lines outside the house: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08ZH6J67V ... show more

  • If you DIY - Buy all the tools. Requires a 1/4 to 5/16 R410a adapter also.
Size: 24000 BTU - 208/230 V
Final Review after updates: Gauge problems gave me false pressure readings, and I thought the unit was not charged with refrigerant as listed. It was fine; my gauges were at fault. This is a very solid, well made AC unit. I'm very pleased with it. It comes well boxed. The "kit" comes with every part you'll need...even a sleeve for the hole in the wall to hold the f-glass out of the hole! I recommend you buy a 4" cover for the exterior lines [3" is too small for the corners unless you're going straight down the wall]. You'll be glad you did; These lines are ugly and susceptible to damage, including rodents and sun damage to the drain tube, but the cover takes care of all that so long as you close off the bottom end with screen cloth. *Note* The vendor will NOT warranty the unit if it is not professionally installed by a licensed HVAC Tech. I ended up hiring a tech to come and verify the system. I think that was worth it, and my warranty is now valid. I'm a retired Auto tech. I've installed and serviced car AC systems for 20 years. I had no problems installing the 24,000 BTU unit. I have some advice if your going to DIY: 1) Measure 3 times where the hole in the wall will go. Make absolutely sure you're in the right spot. 2) Have, borrow, or buy these essential tools: a tubing bender, a clamp-on amp meter, **AND** if you're NOT going to hire an HVAC tech to charge and test the system, also get the essential special 1/4 to 5/16 R410a adapter. [no one had this part in stock, and it took a week to get it!]. If you have that R410a adapter, you CAN rent the gauges and vacuum pump from your local auto parts store (Auto Zone or O'Rielly) to complete the installation. Be CERTAIN you follow the evacuation steps and charge procedures exactly as directed. Be sure to leave the vacuum pump running until you've closed the valves and thereby shut off the lines to the AC unit. You MUST have a power shut-off switch within direct view of the outdoor unit. This can be a breaker box, but you must have a means to shut it down in clear and direct view. DIY can save you around a thousand dollars, but do it right the first time around. In final testing, this unit only draws 10.6A / 230V (2438 Watts) running MAX Cool. That's excellent! ... show more
