  • Working great!
Size: 12000 BTU - 110/120 V
We got this mini split for our 400 sq ft cabin, we have had it for almost a year now and so far it has been working great! The heating ability is really being tested this week, Wisconsin winter and -18. I don’t want to jinx myself but so far it’s been holding up! We did have it professionally installed. Definitely worth the price! ... show more

  • Great unit and easy to install!!
Size: 12000 BTU - 110/120 V
My shop is about 460sqft and an old (40's) detached garage and wasn't insulated. In Seattle, this mean I could really only work there for about 3 months in the spring and 3 months in the fall. It also meant my mill, lathe welder and other machinery and my precision measuring tools had to be coated in protectant to stop the flash rust and corrosion from condensation when temp rise quickly from below freezing. I insulated with R13 in my 4in thick walls and then installed the 12k BTU unit. So far this winter I have had the unit set to minimum heat setting (62*) and 'ECO' setting and the temps inside remain above 60*! We didn't see high temps in the fall after I had finished insulating so, I can't tell how it will be in the summer but so far I'm VERY satisfied. Shipping was fast and predictable. The few things I learned: Aside from the fear of messing something up, the instructions are very good. There are also YT videos to show others doing the installs. I tend to overthink so just following instructions and doing a little research helped. It wasn't clear whether a vacuum was required so I bought a cheap vacuum pump and that worked perfectly. Some say you don't need this. I figured better safe than sorry. It also helps detect if I had a leak so, it seemed like cheap insurance. I mounted mine on the wall and when the compressor unit comes on it creates some vibration. I can hear it inside our house but my wife - who can hear rabbits fart in our yard - says she can't hear it so, maybe it's not as bad as I think. I cut my gas lines so they were as short as possible given the placement of the interior and exterior units so moving the exterior unit to the ground will be a bit of a pain but I will do that. I installed the hose/wire cover to pretty up the install a bit. Plan on making a few trips to the hardware store to get conduit and other fittings etc. I'm very particular about the looks of the install (well, my wife is really and I have to meet her standards) so I took a lot of time to integrate the unit into the existing infrastructure and electrical. I wish I'd done this years ago! Easy peasy! ... show more

  • DIY friendly! Efficient and QUIET!
Size: 12000 BTU - 110/120 V
I installed this unit in a basement den with no other source of heating or cooling. I used the HVAC calculator to find the correct BTU size for this and bought it. It arrived pretty quickly and had everything I needed to install it. My only add-on was the line set cover kit for about $45. I had it installed and running in an afternoon. I had previously bought a RobinAir vacuum pump with adapters for HVAC so that I could do the vacuum after the lines were installed. The unit comes with a full charge of refrigerant in the main unit. Be sure to use Nylog Blue thread sealant on all of the connections to ensure a leak-free seal on your line set. Works great and didn't add but a few dollars to our electric bill over the past several months! Used it for cooling during the last of the summer and now for heat. It kept the room (29 x 18) toasty warm on a 22 degree night! I'm very pleased with it so far. The unit was WAY less expensive than having a big box store come out and do the job. I was quoted over $$6,000 for a same sized unit from a big box home improvement store to come out and do this same install. I came in with everything at under $1,000. ... show more

  • Nice & cool
Size: 12000 BTU - 110/120 V
Works as advertised. Outdoor unit, is very quiet. Indoor unit has multiple fan speeds and is barely discernable. Even in the turbo mode. The only negative thing are the instructions. They could use some re-work. However there are plenty of "You-Tube" videos available for guidance and I highly recommend watching them. I made several mistakes and all turned out fine. The kit comes with lube for the freon connections, make sure you use it. I had a leak at the unfit unit connections. A little freon and a leak detector made it easy to find. You will need some home HVAC guages and a vacuum pump. Automotive ones use quick disconnect ends and don't work. If your not comfortable working with electricity, cutting a 2.5 inch bike through the door of your house and dealing with freon, this project might not be for you. I probably spent a little over $1100 for equipment and supplies. My friend at one of the box stores said a similar unit is about $4k from them installed. Many of the extras I had to purchase will be usable on other projects (ie wire, clamps, etc]. There are many different models of mini-splits on the market. Probably all made at the same factory in China? So far, this unit seems good. ... show more

  • Good product, not the seller
Size: 12000 BTU - 110/120 V
This mini split exceed my expectation. It's quiet, light weight. It claims to cool 450ft, but it actually cool my 600ft living room without any problem with 97F outside. The remote wasn't working. I can manually turn on/off the AC from the controller unit. I called the number in the support listed in amazon. That's not the wrong number. I went to Pioneer website to call their support. They asked me where I bought it. I told them Amazon. They look it up and told me the seller was Jacks Small Engine. They won't be able to pull my order from this seller hence can't ship me a new remote. After more than 10 minutes, I finally convince the agent in Pioneer to ship me a new remote. It came within a week and works. I don't recommend buying this product from Jacks Small Engine. ... show more
