I did the try before you buy the thing and tried about ten coats before deciding on this one. It has the most pockets. It feels very well made, like it will be very durable and last a long time; the hood is nice and has a little brim; it's comfy and doesn't ride up too much if I bend over. It has many pockets, so there is room to put my hands in my pockets and store my keys, gloves, hat, and more. I'm glad I tried this coat. It keeps me nice and warm, and the hood stays out of the way when not in use and fits great when I need it. My only complaint is that the pockets are on the outside of the insulation, so my hands get cold even when they are in the pockets. My hands get cold when I take my dog for a walk on a cold winter night in Utah, even in my coat pockets with gloves on. That is my only complaint, and I still give it five stars. Bought and tried a few different winter coat. This just feels the best. The soft and fleece inside feels nice and warm. It's a little puffy but just enough that you can still easily move around. Its also waterproof and wind proof. Also a big plus with all the pockets on the jacket. If I would have to nit pick, it would be the zipper. The quality of this coat far exceeded expectations. Zippers smooth working. Seems well sewn. even have a cuff on the sleeves to prevent snow or cold air from entering. The down lining kept me very warm in cold weather. No need for a sweater or fleece. Light rain/snow fell off. The price for this winter coat was very reasonable. This winter coat is well made. It has an un attachable hood which is what was needed. Pockets are great. Perfect length and warm for cold days. My husband went up one size from large to xtra large, because he wanted room for long sleeve shirts.

a 5 star jacket BUT...very fine tooth wimpy zipper comes apart (twice already). zipper belongs on wife's make-up bag. hard for large fingers to get started. costs 2 stars.
