  • Nice weight, great spin surface, thinner handle
Color: unique grit-textured surface
4.125" circumference handle INCLUDING wrap, exactly as described (some manufacturers do not include the wrap in this metric, which ends up adding another .125"). This is extremely helpful for kids and women with smaller hands. Surprisingly gritty surface, easily imparts spin. It's as powerful as you need it to be, and I have as much ball control as I want. Add lead tape if you want more oomf. Have been playing hard with this paddle for three months and it has held up really well. Glad I ordered two. Would have preferred slightly longer handle for two-handed strokes, but this works fine. ... show more

  • This has up to my spin game to the next level...
Color: superior micro-textured surface
I love this paddle because I'm a big fan of putting as much spin on the ball as possible. All of my previous paddles have a pretty smooth face, but this one has a texture similar to a fine grit sandpaper so it really increases the spin factor. This paddle is also incredibly lightweight, and has a very comfortable grip so I don't get fatigued at all when playing; in my wrists anyway lol. I would definitely recommend this paddle, but only if you are a relatively skilled player because it is not exactly cheap. I'm thrilled with it though, so if you are trying to increase your spin then this paddle is probably perfect for you. ... show more

  • Comprehensive review with specs, details, comparison, tips
Color: unique grit-textured surface
It's really difficult to give a rating to a paddle because each person's skill level and play style is different. This is a great paddle, but before getting into the specs, I will say two things up front: First, I've tested dozens of paddles, and Selkirk is my favorite brand, because you pick the paddle according to your play style. I like oversized paddles with long handle, power over control, and my first priority is spin. So Selkirk has a paddle for me - the Vanguard Pro Air Invikta. However, Selkirk is more expensive. Second, this may be a tad expensive compared to virtually identical paddles from other brands. I have an OXIKEN paddle that is exactly identical to this (dimensions, grip & handle, raw carbon face, etc), except that the OXIKEN is 2 ounces lighter. . and 30% cheaper. So if you're looking for high end, I like Selkirk. If you're looking to save a few bucks, I like OXIKEN. If you like it heavier, you can always get the OXIKEN and add some lead tape. Nonetheless, this is an undeniably great paddle, and here are the specs: The surface is raw carbon, which provides durability and 4/5 on spin. It's not as much spin as heavy grit. The raw carbon does get discolored and picks up lint and dirt. It's not difficult to clean. Weight is 8.6 ounces, which is medium to medium-heavy for a carbon paddle. They say the grip is 4 1/8, but I measure at 4 3/8. They may be measuring prior to the grip tape. Regardless of how you measure, this is a standard and fairly universal grip. The grip is a medium tack (which is my preference). They claim the handle is 5.25 inches, but I measure 5 inches, which is medium. I prefer a longer handle (5.25 or 5.5 is my preference). Total length is 16 3/8, which is considered a long paddle Width is 7.5 inches. I prefer wider, 8 or 8.5 inches is my preference. This is considered a long handle/long face paddle. I tend to prefer larger/wider faced paddles. For example, the Selkirk Amped S2 paddle is 16 long and 8.5 wide. This is not rimless. The rimless may not be an option for this style of raw carbon fiber surface, but I do generally prefer rimless. There is no air hole, and I have come to prefer air holes in my paddles. Overall, this is a good balance of control, spin, sweet spot, and power. They claim the micro texture has more spin than raw carbon face. I'm not so sure about that claim, although the micro texture is both more common and typically less expensive than the raw carbon face. They also say the micro texture is better for control than the raw carbon face, and that's probably accurate. So if you're a beginner or intermediate looking for control, I might suggest a micro texture in rimless - which is going to give you the largest sweet spot, maximum control, and will still give you ample spin and power. I hope some of this helps you choose the right paddle for your play style and skill level. ... show more

  • High quality paddle
Color: unique grit-textured surface
When you are ready to up your pickleball game, look no further than this carbon fiber paddle. You know it’s quality when it’s made of carbon. The paddle is super light weight, making you have less fatigue when you play while giving you more power and control over your game. My spin game has never been better since upgrading to this paddle. It is a bit on the pricier side, but it is definitely worth the investment when you are ready to take your game to the next level. ... show more

  • GREAT Paddle
Color: superior micro-textured surface
If you want to up your game, this is a great paddle. I am completely satisfied with the control it gives me. I can put a nice spin on the ball. It's easy to hold and comfortable to play with. Definitely upped my game. With that being said, if you aren't really into pickleball or are just learning, this may be overkill and you may want something more budget-friendly until you're sure you like the game. For those who know how to play and can make good use of this paddle, it's a nice choice. Have received many compliments. ... show more

  • Works well for my style play
Color: unique grit-textured surface
This is an awesome blend of both power and control. I have very good control of the ball and I was surprised that I was also able to get power shots. I generally like a shorter handle but this paddle felt fine and I didn't mind the handle a bit longer than my usual. The length is great since I tend to undereach in my swings. The fabric-like textured surface would good for my spin but I need to mention that I don't normally spin-hit so I wouldn't be very particular in every texture type of nuances but I definitely like my paddle to have a worthy surface texture and this one is great. The overall weight distribution of the paddle more towards the head than the handle which is probably why I'm getting decent power hits. The grip is good, absorbent, and smooth but it has very little padding. It's almost too hard for my hands but another grip wrap will improve that. Great paddle overall. ... show more
