  • Plays like a Selkirk paddle
My brother has the Selkirk Luxx Control Air, and this paddle plays very similar, the surface of the paddle has a lot of grip and is easy to spin the ball. The sweet spot is pretty big, but what I like most is that the edges are super strong especially when you can barely reach the ball. This paddle definitely has a lot of power. I bought this one, because it was an affordable price and I read somewhere that there are Chinese brands that sell paddles that come out of the same factories as the expensive ones, just they aren’t a name brand. It definitely was worth the price, and if you are looking for an affordable option with a lot of power and good spin definition take this one into consideration! ... show more

  • Plays really well right out of the box
I was quite pleasantly surprised by this paddle. I've tested a lot of paddles, from the big brands like Selkirk and Joola, as well as no-name paddles (like this one). This has been the best no-name paddle I've tried. How so? Pros: - Edgeless design reduces mis-hits - Open throat help improve hand speed - Gritty surface improves spin - 3k carbon fiber gives a softer feel (vs T700) Cons: - 3k carbon fiber may not be as durable - Grip tape could be better I played four continuous hours with this paddle on my first outing with it. Normally when testing a new paddle, I'll play for an hour or so before switching to my usual paddle (Gamma Obsidian 16mm). That's typically when I find that a new paddle requires me to adjust in some way. Not so with this paddle. It had enough power while still maintaining a soft feel when needed. That soft feel translates into good control. The swing weight felt just right. I was impressed with this paddle's ability to spin the ball on serves as well as returns. The price on this paddle was $99 at the time of this review (October 2, 2024). That's probably high as I'm aware of other alternatives that are very capable at a lower price, but there was also a $30 coupon at the same time and at $69 this is a good value. I'm hopeful this paddle will endure a lot of play. I plan to update this review given extended use. ... show more

  • Another Winner for CZRR X5 PRO
I had the original, non-aero throat version of this paddle and loved it. One of my buddies loved it so much that when I would use another of my paddles, he'd grab this one out of my bag, eventually he just stopped putting it back in my bag. So enter the Aero throat version of this paddle, which I suspect he will also procure over time. And at the time I wrote the review on its predecessor, Gen2 was relatively new and at a price premium, so this gen1 technology was still pricey. The original was half the price of this aero version and, frankly, was a great deal at the time. Currently, you can get better paddles at or under $100, so consider your options. The paddle has a balanced feeling swing-weight. Able to impart good spin. Good control and fair pop. Edgeless, so if you're someone who scrapes the court on digs a lot, get some edge tape. I'd be lying if I said it is a bad paddle, because it is not. It's a good paddle that will suit most players. I just think it's a bit steep for the technology and materials used. ... show more

  • carbon pickleball paddle
Product Packaging: retail packaging Product Experience: Lightweight, gritty carbon head, standard handle with soft grip. This paddle provides great spin and power. The price is average, yet affordable given the open power wedge. There is no awful branding on the head like other brands tend to print for advertising. It also comes with a nice black cover and extra grip tape. Overall a good inexpensive paddle for and beginner to intermediate player. Additionally, this paddle is certified and can be used in league play. Pro: Product Itself Con: None Yet Overall: Recommended ... show more

  • Narrower head, great feel and spin control!
Comfortable, lightweight and fast to maneuver, due to it's size and weight. I like the "open throat" style for paddles...no idea if that "air vent" really decreases wind resistance when swinging the paddle back and forth, but it psychologically feels easier and faster. I like that a lot. The face/head is on the small side of paddles -- it doesn't really cause me to miss shots, but it feels like I am playing at a disadvantage for some reason. Still though, I love the overall feel. And the rough face does make a noticeable difference in improving my control on spin shots! This is also my first paddle that does not have a framed edge around the head. It is a cool look, and I suppose if I ever hit an edge shot, it might keep the shot on track? Hasn't happened yet, though. The only downside is that I suspect that I will ding the paddle edges more, which will take away from the cool factor over time. :-( ... show more

  • Takes pickleball racquets to a new level
Wow. The excellence of this racquet is understated. At first, you notice the simplicity of the case and handle - plain cover with a nice loop handle extending out, and a warm toned grip. Take the cover off and what you see is sublime. The standout feature is the cutout, which might add a performance benefit (it is gorgeous), but the feature that peaked my interest was the edge. Typically the edge of racquets have a banded lip that wraps over the plane of what we call the smacking surface. This racket dispenses with that edge (see photos). This is a serious contender for the racquet of the year. The sweet spot is about the same as other high end models, starting about mid-plane and extending up to the rim, about 1.5" in from the racquet edge. You can clearly hear when you hit the sweet spot, always lovely. This is a 10 star product, exceptional. ... show more
