I read some of the review and people complain that the battery does not fit. You do need to push the connection firmly to get it to snap in but it took a minute to install. This includes unscrewing the back plate, removing the old battery and replacing it, then screwing the plate back on. It even comes with the needed screwdriver. After testing g battery lasts for hours! Three to four times longer than the OEM. I’m not understanding why Nintendo put in such a small worthless battery in the first place but this is a nice upgrade for your Wii U gamepad! Highly recommend! ... show more

I've been using this battery for a few months now... And it's pretty good. First thing to note is it is significantly bigger than the OEM battery, so your controller will weigh slightly more. However, the increase in battery life is worth the extra weight. My old, degraded battery would only last a few hours of playtime before needing to be recharged.     • Excellent product, but with a bit of a twist
Excellent product...only issue is when installing, something was getting caught on the plug. Took about 4 tries before it easily slipped into place. Not sure what was catching, but glad I stuck with it. Battery lasts even longer than it did new.

    • GREAT upgrade from factory battery
So this battery is not the same size as the one you will pull out of a factory Wii U game pad. At first I was like “oh no…” not only that but the plug itself is also ever so slightly different. But I can tell you with certainty that everything DOES FIT! the battery itself just drops in easy enough. You’ll see that the game pad was made for a battery of this size (wonder why Nintendo didn’t just include this larger battery size to begin with). Now you want to be careful when plugging it in. I had to use a small flat head screw driver to push it in and let me tell you, that plug is a tight, TIGHT fit. Just take your time, apply consistent pressure and it will go in. Powered on and it works great! Good thing too because my Wind Waker Edition Wii U game pad being bought in 2012 (now 2023) would only keep a charge for less than 5 minutes. Well worth the money….     • Excellent replacement, but stiff to install.
This battery has provided a significant boost of new life into my Wii U Gamepad after only having the 1500 mAh battery since buying it in 2012. The only issue that I had came with installing it, as the pins take more force to actually put into the ports than the OEM battery. It's fine once you get it in, but it does feel like you're on the verge of breaking the pins in order to get it to fit. I saw that the size of the holes were smaller than the OEM battery's, so that would explain the issue. ... show more

To those who mentioned that the battery does not fit is probably because: 1 they got the wrong item, 2 human error. Mostly 2, human error. If anyone ever plays Tetris or anything similar would easily see that there are two slots for batteries. The original small one Nintendo provides fits one way and the extended battery slot. Installed in less then 2 minutes (yes it's that easy). So far I never have any inconvenience of stopping my game to charge the Gamepad. I would strongly recommend it for any Wii U fans/game Collectors. ... show more
