  • Perfect.
This system is easy to set up, easy to follow, and with a little time - easy to train your dog. The recommended length to train your dog is two weeks - mine was easily trained within a few days and he is 3 years old (I was a little worried because he had free roam of the property for years). I definitely recommend this product to anyone! He is a large dog and setting number two works great (mainly because he has learned the beeping warning). Dont know why we hesitated so long but glad we finally purchased. ... show more

  • Worked for us, operates exactly as advertised
Super easy setup. There are two settings on the transmitter that you have to play with but once those are tested (it took us about five or six tries) the signal is reliable and consistent. We trained our dog for about a week using the suggestions from the manual and the training flags the set comes with. She’s 70 pounds and has medium length thick fur. We have the strength of the correction on the collar set to 2 which is like static electricity. When we set the strength to 3 it was too strong for her. The battery gets low after about 3-4 months. Our home is set on a slight incline but the radius of the signal still works for us. If we park the car inside the signal radius it does affect the signal occasionally and the collar beeps, she quickly moves away and it stops. We especially like the audible warning signal before administering a correction. Our dog hears the signal and runs back into the safety zone. You can hear the tone of the signal speed up when the collar changes to a correction. This saves our dog from needlessly getting shocked. This product has protected our dog from running in the street, prevented her from going into our neighbors lawns and trained her to stay around our house. She has never escaped. And she does occasionally test the boundaries. The collar activates on a lost signal so we bought a battery backup. Update- after two years the collar stopped working. We called customer service and they sent us a new collar within a week at a discount. Eight months later the same issue happened. The collar does not warn or correct when out of range. This time they sent us a collar for free within 10 days. Customer service is very pleasant and helpful, but I wish the collar would stop breaking! ... show more

  • Works everywehre EXCEPT the driveway!
OVERALL: This collar works 90% of the time. You set the distance, put up some flags and you're done. I will say to be weary and check the whole perimeter!! This color works everywhere EXCEPT a certain section of my driveway. I am not sure if its because of the cars or what but it is something that does keep me worried. Where it does not work (about a 15ft wide section) there are no cars parked near there or any wiring or metal or anything! Very odd. Every other place works perfectly. I have adjusted the fencing line to see if it was just a fluke but it seems that there is some type of "block" in that park of the driveway. To note, the box is set up just as it asks. It is not near any metal or wiring and it is 3 feet above ground level in a dry area (living room). BATTERY: STOCK UP!! You can buy the collar batteries here on amazon for like $6 for a 2pack. Please do this!! The collar went dead on this one in less than 3 months but thankfully PetSmart had some in stock (much more expensive than amazon). ... show more

  • AWESOME for MULTIPLE DOGS of VARIOUS BREEDS! Even the German Shepherd was knocked on her ---
So we had purchased another electric dog fence with a wire you had to bury before and it worked great for our Catahoula but our German Shepherd just sat there like John Wick her neck pulsing because it was actively shocking her on the highest level yet she was looking at us like "Is that all you got?" I was a little more than upset thinking her and our Catahoula were just destined to remain in our backyard fenced off area where our in ground pool is, which made swimming miserable because the GS is in LOVE with the water and the hair is so nasty to swim with (in my opinion)! Irregardless, we decided to try this thing out, quite skeptical of course because there's nothing to bury, no line/wire, just a box and 2 collars, but oh BOY were we WRONG. HOLY CRAP! On Day 1 we took our GS out & showed her what it was to be "shocked" once she went out of the boundaries and she spent the 2 days on the porch scared to move! We knew better than to follow the directions with her, she's like me (too stubborn) to really learn slow! Both dogs are now grazing the yard (in their safe area) and have now been truly tested with the neighbors dog getting out of it's fence (it happens once a week on the regular), the GS (of course) went after it, got shocked and knocked on her a$$ and thrown back into the yard! They have been tested by Amazon more than once (I shop...a lot) and passed now with flying colors! PROS: ~ Works for ANY dog breed. The collars are able to be set individually, the GS collar is set to 5, while the Catahoula is set to 3. The other unit we tried only had the ability to set the box so both dogs were shocked at the same rate, which made it way too strong for the Catahoula. Huge Kudos to PetSafe for making the collars individually adjustable. This makes all the difference in the world! ~Having the ability to add more collars is an awesome feature. You can add another collar for another dog at any time & again you can set it to the "discipline power" needed for that specific breed/dog. ~ No digging/trenching your yard! There's literally NO WIRE to put in the yard it's radio transmission only! Which also gives it the ability to MOVE it if you need to! CONS: ~ I found that the Catahoula's collar seems to give her a bit more roaming room than the GS (even after changing the battery in the GS's collar) , so one day I was out washing my truck, she wandered over to me & the GS naturally followed, well the GS got lit up because her collar didn't give her that much leeway, so if you have dogs that "roam together" they really need to comprehend the warning beeps! ~ The box is a bit bulky BUT it does come with a fairly long cord (This is a mixed CON/PRO I guess) ~ The batteries aren't rechargeable so you have to purchase a whole new battery unit for the collars if they need to be replaced. ~ The flags are a pain to take up & put back down (while training your dogs) when you need to mow, weed-eat, etc. (this to me is very minor, I mean we all need exercise once in a while) and honestly the flags didn't really serve a purpose for us, the beep was more of a trainer than the flags in our case! ... show more

  • Product won't stop shocking my dog
Set up was fairly easy and trained my dog per the instructions. After less than 2 months of use - the collar will not stop shocking/beeping regardless of how far from the perimeter we are. I've tried resetting everything, changing batteries to no avail. We are outside of the return window from Amazon so we're stuck with a useless product. Would not recommend it. ... show more
