About a month ago I mounted this to the side of my shed about 2 feet off the ground, using my own 2 1/4" bolts instead of the 7 3/4" bolts that came with it. I was only able to use 3 of the 5 holes when mounting due to where I mounted it on the shed. I have a husky that occasionally give this tie-out a good tug. This thing has worked wonderfully and I've never had a concern with it coming out. The swivel design is really nice and allows my dog to roam all over the yard. I have never had a prolem with the swivel locking up or getting caught on anything. When mowing, it's not difficult to pull line line in and set it off to the side. I highly recommend this if you plan on mounting it to a sturdy structure. ... show more

This 360 degree dog swivel is one the strongest i have purchased and am pleased with the product. They must not have gps at Amazon when delivering anymore though. When i purchaded this item was litterally a hour and a half away from my location at a fullfillment center. I was supposed to get this on 09/21/24. But somehow they managed to put it on another truck and ship it over 200 miles south of me. No problem with the product but get your drivees some gps devices. ... show more

Attached this with large screws (not the giant ones included) to the top of a 6" diameter fencepost that I buried 3 feet into the ground. My dogs 50 foot line never gets tangled up now, and he's not pulling it out of the ground. I can't say I believe just attaching it to the ground would last long with any dog that wasn't tiny, but screwed to an all but immovable object, this thing is great ... show more

I bought two different versions of a tie out stake like this. I received this one first and I was happy with the quality. The screws have deep ridges to help hold them in the ground. I didn’t realize I would get a socket bit, so I was happy to not have to dig one out. I have hard packed dirt and the stake felt super secure, and I was reasonably confident it would hold my stupidly strong dog. Even though he’s only been on it once, I did notice that the metal is dented where the ring hit the side when he pulled hard. I will have to keep checking to make sure it’s secure. Overall, I was happy with my purchase. Then my second one came (the black one in the photos). It’s plastic and metal. The ball bearing thing is half the size. Even more noticeable is the screws, which seem more like tent stakes. So for that reason, I’m returning the other and buying a second of these. ... show more

I was hesitant to believe the "doesn't tangle" claim as frankly, its not that different then the spiral screw in dog leashes. Combine that with the fact that the only thing holding it to the earth was some lag bolts and I was fully prepared to hit the return button after first use. But, two things happened. First and most important, the company notified me 2 days after purchasing and told me that there was a defect in some of their batches and if mine looked or acted the way they said it could, then I should let them know to send a new one. It so happens that mine did indeed have a minor defect (the spinning ball could get stuck on a bad weld) and I responded to the email as soon as I found out. They immediately sent me a new one and didn't even require I send back the old one. Second thing that happened is the first time I used these (with rope not wire...thats probably key) was that my dogs never once got tangled. I had two large german shepherds on one tie down with a single rope looped between them (tie down in the middle). They roamed the campsite, ate, drank, did their business, and never once were tangled. It also never came loose or even showed signs of coming loose.
