If I could give it 3.5 stars, I would. But since I can't, I'll round up and give it 4. Smell and odor - This putty smells fine. I don't know if it smells nice, but it doesn't smell in anyway that it would turn you off of it. Consistency - It's very sticky...almost like the paste you used in grade school. You have to rub your hands hard to get it to emulsify properly. Size - You don't get a lot, and although its the same size as comparable products, I've already gone through half of it in about a month. I normally use Paul Mitchel Tea Tree Styling Cream and for some reason, it takes me much longer to go through that container. Maybe it's the volume and density of the products? I don't know. But I was hoping Pete & Pedro was going to last me much longer at $20 a container. And yes, I'm only using a little tab like Aaron suggests in the youtube video. Performance - After about 3 days, I was ready to give this a very poor rating. The hold on my hair was very weak and only lasted until noon or so (half a normal work day). I was adding it to my hair that was already dry. I assumed that would work because I can do that with other products. But instead of giving this a low rating, I decided to follow Aaron's technique exactly. I applied it to my hair while it was wet and then blow dried it. Then I added a few quick shots of hair spray. This did the trick. My hair kept it's shape all day and night. I could feel it working better after I blow dried it. Using this technique is a little time consuming but I am satisfied with the results. I'm deducting points for the price and that I can't apply it to dry hair and get good results. But in the end, I think I would buy this again and would probably recommend it to another person. ... show more

It smells like nothing its isn't strong and it isn't weak its just clean and simple. The price could be cheaper but if you have money than its no big deal. But the main thing is that it is easy to use but please (note) and keep this in mind..... You have to get to the center of the product the first few layers of the putty is ok but not as flexible its thick but over time after using it in your hair will tame your hair. On the top of my head my hair comes pass my nose. The back of my head my hair comes way pass my neck or hangs near the shoulders. Its easy to wash out but if you use heat it starts to harden like candle so rub it in throughly so your hair or your head depending on the length of your hair you make sure its not just setting in your hair or on your scalp otherwise the product is going to look all white and pasty in your hair and it will make you look half/@ssed so please realize that the product does most of the work you just have to rub it in all the way to make it stay if you need to flat iron your hair while this stuff is in it that works too but I let it air dry and let the hot sun straighten out my hair more and more as time goes on its a great product. ... show more

Pet & Pedro Putty is a pretty good hair product. My assessment: PROS - It really does work great! - Killer texture and separation - True matte finish when applied to dry hair....finishes with a light shine if you apply to damp hair - Does not leave your hair greasy at all and is pretty easy to wash out - Provides great all day hold/performance - My hair is not crunchy at all and I can rework it throughout the day - I have shorter, wiry, frizzy hair and it tames the little frizzy wispies really well - Doesn't irritate my scalp CONS - Difficult to emulsify - Like the other P&P products I've tried (putty, clay, salt) it has a feminine scent. There is just no way of getting around this issue with P&P. With the putty, as with the other products, it's not that it smells bad or that it's over powering, but it is not masculine. The putty has almost like a very light honeydew melon perfume kind of scent. - Price is high for only 2oz per jar I definitely recommend using P&P Putty with a salt spray. ... show more
