The feeder does its job pretty well even with flake food, on time, and the battery has worked for weeks without recharge! It doesn't drop quite as much of my big flake food as I'd like in my overstocked 55 gal tank, but if I crunch it up a little when filling its fine. I did have to get creative with a deflector shield and careful positioning of the feeder to get all the food to drop through a 1.5 inch wide space between the back tank rim and cover, so don't expect a smaller opening to work, but overall I'm pleased. ... show more

It is extremely rare for me to be so impressed with a product. It seems like there is always something that bugs you about almost anything you buy so it is such a pleasant experience being completely satisfied with a product. I bought this for a vacation to Japan where I needed to feed my fish for a week while I was gone. This worked perfectly. It has 14 slots available so you can go two weeks with daily feeding or a week with twice a day feeding. There are options for a third feeding as well. If you have large, hungry fish, you can dump up to 3 chambers each feeding but this will obviously reduce how many days you can go. I bought this for the vacation I mentioned but I use it daily now because I like how I can be perfectly consistent with the voluming and timing of feeding. I have my aquarium light on a smart plug so the light clicks on and 5 minutes later the fish are getting fed. I still go and watch for the enjoyment of watching them eat, but if I forget one day, my fish will still get fed. I have two aquariums and I just ordered a second one for the reasons I just mentioned. I have been using this feeder daily for over 3 weeks and the rechargeable battery still shows full. 100% satisfied with this product. ... show more

In my opinion, the Petbank Fish Feeder is a nifty device, especially if you're often away or busy. I was tired of always buying those fishfood cakes that would slowly dissolve in the tank while I was gone for 5-10 days- they left my tank a mess... This is a convenient way to have something to feed your fish automatically when you can't do it yourself (and avoid coming home to that gross mess!). However, I should mention that it might take a bit of trial and error to get it to work just right. Figuring out the right settings for the number of feedings per day and the portion sizes may require some tinkering. Also, it's important to be cautious and keep an eye on it to make sure it doesn't overfeed your fish. Once you find the right settings, though, it becomes a helpful tool in taking care of your fish while you're not around. ... show more

Update-After speaking with the seller, I was shipped a brand new one! Old one-It worked fine when I bought it in June for a trip. Now trying to charge it for another getaway and will not charge. Type C and works on other devices so not a cord issue.

The Petbank feeder has truly exceeded my expectations! It has great moisture-sealing and remarkable durability. You can precisely regulate your pet's food intake through pre-loading. Recharging with supplied USB-C cable is great. While I did need to make a minor adjustment by creating a hole in the hood, it has proven to be a substantial enhancement compared to my previous setup. Before, I relied on the Fluval PF2 feeder for my 32-gallon Fluval tank. However, it had a significant drawbacks: 1. Within just two days, the drum would become moist and develop mold. Even after switching from flakes to dried pellet food, the issue persisted. 2. Really hard to control the portions with the slider. Was pretty stressful to use this, especially when returning from an extended vacation to find hungry, emaciated, or deceased fish. No more stress with Petbank!!! ... show more

I am so impressed with this feeder and would recommend everyone to buy one. First, I love how it has suction cups and can be mounted over the lid if it has an opening for feeding, like my glass lid does. The other feeders that hook on the side of the tank would not have worked for me (although this feeder comes with a clip that will let you do that, if you want to). Secondly, I like that it uses a rechargeable battery. There's no extra power cords dangling over the tank. Next, what sold me on this specific feeder was its compartment-style feeding. Other feeders store all the food in one large compartment, which makes it possible for malfunctions to open the single compartment, drain all the food into the tank at once, and kill all the fish. This feeder has 15 separate small compartments so it is impossible for that to happen. Lastly, programming this was extremely easy. The booklet was small and only 2 small pages needed to explain how to do it. You essentially just press a single button (the gear/setting button) and can cycle through what times you want to feed, how many rounds (compartments to use), and how many days spaced between feedings (0 days aka every day, 1, or 2 days in between). With this flexibility the 15 compartments are enough to last any length of vacation you may want to take. There is also a manual feed button so you can use the feeder for non-scheduled feedings too, you press it and food comes out (good for testing the feeder too).
