The media could not be loaded. I bought this tank for my two daughters, ages 4 and 7, who were interested in getting some glo fish. Originally the plan was to go with two small tanks for each of their rooms but quickly learned this was a much more cost effective option as well as more likely to have happy fish and be visually appealing. We liked the look of the Color Fusion versus the Glo Kit because of the color changing option. We have had the tank set-up without water for a couple weeks, finally filled it up and got the filter and heater going yesterday, and have made 6 GloFish a home today. This works really well with GloFish, for those that might be wondering. After a lot of shopping for tanks, I went with this kit because the reviews were positive, the price was right for what you get, and the customer service responses were encouraging that if we had any after purchase questions and needs, they would be taken care of, and they have been. This tank comes with.... - A pump and filter. It is quiet other than the water movement, which is actually quite relaxing. You need to change this monthly from what I understand. It has a low and hi setting. - A heater. It is not adjustable but seems to be holding the temp just fine for our Tropical GloFish. - A Color Fusion light. It cycles through the colors, you can press the button to halt in on a color if you wish. There is not an off button, so if you want the light off at night you will need to either unplug it or put it on a timer. So if you are counting that is 3 outlet openings that you will need and you should probably have this going to a ground fault outlet, which we did. - Comes with a few Color Fusion decorations and a really nice sea anemone decoration. -A net, a little packet of water conditioner, and a small packet of fish food. -A Thermometer - ours was missing this, but the company was really helpful in getting that resolved. What you will need to get: - You will need to get some more decorations for sure. No gravel comes in the kit. I bought a total of 34 lbs of gravel, All black for the base and then 2 - 2lbs of color glo gravel, and 2 small bags of gem rocks. - More fish food and water conditioner - A gravel vacuum - A background for the tank. I used black Cricut Vinyl. - The FISH :) April 2019 EDIT: After an estimated 9000 hours the light has quit working. We leave the light on about 12-14 hours a day and shut it off at night. I am attempting to contact company to see about a replacement. I am not finding what they state the life of the light should be, however, other companies that sell similar lights claim a guarantee for 50000 hours. I will let you all know what I find out. After finding a couple different contact emails with various responses one sent me a replacement light. We have the new one on a timer that is one 8 hours per day. We have a llevo and 5 Flo fish in the tank. And pleco like dark to get out and eat that algea so that is why the light settings ... show more

The media could not be loaded. We purchased this aquarium for my teenage son. If neon goes with your decor. The glo tanks are great. I thought about getting a regular tank and adding a black light, but it was easier to purchase the kit. This is a nice size tank. It comes with the two orange plants in the back corner, the blue plants, tall green plants and the larger yellow rubber bush. The kit included the filter and heater. There are several components to this aquarium to review. Firstly, the tank itself. It seems made well, simple enough. Now the hood. It has perforated cutouts for a filter and such. It also has a rectangular feeding hole near the front. There are extra spaces in the back for the light cable and air tubing if so desired. The lights actually have to be placed into their respective slots on the underside of the hood and there is a channel for the cord. The light cord can come out the left or right side, depending on preference. There are also 2 hinges that need to be installed. We found installing them onto the hood first worked easier than putting them on the tank's rim first. Just make sure that the front lip of the hinge clip (shorter side) goes under the tank's inner rim or the hood will not go down flat/sit flush. I like the hood overall, but I am concerned about the light strips constant contact with water. They're not submerged in the water, but they stay wet nonetheless. The heater is not being used, so I can not comment on that. I did stick the exterior temperature strip on the outside of the tank. Now onto the other accessories. The fishnet is basic, simple. Tjere is also some aquarium starter to make tap water safe and a small sample of fish flakes. I highly recommend having your own fish food and aquarium solutions. The decor is sparse. They actually gave me the wrong decor for my tank. I did get the boxwood gravel mat, but the rest of the plants that were in my kit were the "GloFish" plants. They're really bright and cheap looking and are better suited for the GloFish version kit, which they are actually intended for. If I had wanted the GloFish accessories, I would have chosen the GloFish kit. All the rest of the decor in my picture was from my smaller aquarium or ones that I purchased separately. I'm glad I had my own stuff because the included decor is pretty chinsy. Lastly we're onto the "Whisper" filter system. Whisper is a bit of a stretch, more like humming filter. As you can guess this is not as quiet as they make it sound, but it is tolerable... well at least now it is. I did have an issue w/the filter being super loud for days. I was so annoyed because it sounded like a small aircraft taking off in my dining room and it could be heard throughout the house. I almost dropped the star rating severely because of the amount of noise this thing was making. I decided to tinker w/the filter system again to see if I got a defective one or if it was some other issue. I'm glad I did because it's way more quiet now, not a Whisper, but definitely not obnoxious. The tube that presses down into the pump had somehow gotten slightly loose. This was causing vibration and also the pump gear wasn't catching like it should. The result was the filter was super loud. Once I tinkered around and pulled the tube back up and pressed it back in until it clicked, then the noise dropped drastically. Also, I found that I can not use the bio sphere filter type mediums in the back of the filter either because they cause vibration too. The pump comes w/1 Large size filter. I purchased this tank for my 8 year old. It arrived early and handled with great care. Everything is pretty easy to set up. We love the color changing lights! The tank is as described, however it didn’t come with the grass mat decoration, which didn’t really matter we used the other decorations that came with the tank and also added a few more of others we purchased separately. Also, I can see we will probably upgrade the tank lid because it’s quite flimsy, but it works for now. Filter works great, noise doesn’t bother us. We’ve only had it setup and running for 24 hours, so I’ll update later on, after we’ve had it a while. ... show more
