I've bought many automatic feeders over the years. They all were not great. The spinning hopper types never feed the same amount and any humidity renders them useless when the food gets damp. Found this one on Amazon and gave it a try. IT WORKS. Only had it for a few weeks but the individual compartments and the way it's discharged work great. The food dose is exact and always made it out of the feeder. Much easier to program than all my past feeders. It can sit flat on top of the lid like mine or screw into the side. 5+ stars. Nicely implemented device. It has simple construction, but good design. Better than feeders that rotate a round container with food during the day and wait till a piece falls out of it. This one has separate bins for each day and you can "control" how much food this thing will drop in the morning and in the evening. You can set up up to 3 feeding period. If you hold "up" button it will enable 8 am, 8 pm default settings, nice feature to quickly configure the feeder. The feeder has 14 bins, so it allows you to leave for a week if you set up 2 feeds per day. I tested for few days and the battery indicator was still 4 out 4, the instruction says it is up to 30 days (but I believe it depends on number of feeds per day you have), it looks like it for sure can stay for a week without additional charging. But the device also has USB-C port, so you can conveniently connect it to a power source or power bank... which allows you to recharge the thing without removing it from aquarium, but you're still limited to 14 feeding bins, so you can be out maximum for 2 weeks anyway, but I think it's more than enough for a typical vacation. ... show more

This automatic feeder is awesome! I’ve bought one for all three of my tanks. It works great for both flake food and pellet food. The food never gets wet because it has a little trap door that opens, the feeder turns to dump the next serving of food and then the trap door closes again to keep the moisture out. It’s really easy to program and has been very reliable. The battery lasts a long time and doesn’t take long to charge. The only negative about it is I wish it would have an option to attach it to your tank in more positions. But overall I highly recommend this feeder. ... show more

    • Accurate and working timer with precise feeding quantity for small fishes
This is one of the best auto fish feeders that I bought and used. The timer is fairly accurate with 3 programmable feeding times per day and up to 3 portions for each feeding. It has 16 ½x¾x1" compartments along the rim to store any amount of fish food up to about 0.1oz of ⅛" pellets. Depending on what kind of fishes that you have, it may be sufficient or not. In my case, this is too small for my four 8-10" koi for a week. If the manufacturer offers a bigger size feeder that would be a perfect 5 rating. So, I supplemented it with another brand of fish feeder, which has a bigger capacity but the 8/12/24hr fixed timer drifts so much that late afternoon feeding would become dinner at night! So far, this one is the best for my application, but still has room for improvement. Until then! ... show more

    • Great for aquariums with lids
Tried several auto fish feeders, and the others (esp the ones that look like the shape of a gun dispenser) will dispense way too much food, which is a nightmare if you're using this for a trip and don't have anyone else to care and feed for your beloved pet fish. I like that you can determine how much food per feeding will be dispensed, and you can set a timer so that it feeds three different times throughout the day (or you can opt for just once). The other autofeders that I tried requires you to attach the feeder to one of the aquarium walls, which didn't work for my setup because I have fish that jump, and so, I prefer a lid over my aquarium. This feeder is excellent if you use a lid and it has a feeding hole. To do this, I placed it right above the feeding hole, and it dispenses pretty well at the time(s) you set. If you prefer to afix the feeder to your aquarium wall, it comes with a screw and stand so that you can do that too. I like the versatile options! It is wireless and charges pretty quickly, and the charge lasts a long time. The last time I charged it was almost 2 weeks ago, and I haven't had the need to charge it yet. One caveat is that though it works really really well, you might need to train/condition your fish that the food will come from the feeding hole if you don't use the hole on a regular basis or an autofeeder. After a week or so of training my fish, he knew to come up in the morning for his food. Otherwise, the food would've just floated away, dirtying the water. This autofeeder is exactly what I was looking for in terms of ease of setup, reliability, and amount of food dispensed. This will save me time and money from asking friends or others to stop by and care/feed my fish. When traveling and no one is checking on my fish, I set up a Blink camera to ensure all is well with my pet. The Blink camera and this fish feeder are a game changer for anyone looking for an auto feeder! ... show more

    • I had no idea I needed this.
Upade August 25, 2024. I have beenon several weel-long trips and this feeder has worked great. Until it didn't. I was gone for a week and it seems the feeder only worked once although it is set to feed 2x/day, every day. Turtle is fat and healthy so she survived. I charged and filled it before I left so maybe a piece of food was wedged where it should not have been. I would highly recommend that you test it/watch it feed before you leave for an extended time. The plastic separator can be removed for cleaning so you can make sure food has not gotten wedged. Other than this, assuming it functions properly going forward, I still love this feeder. My turtle loves to eat. I am going to be away and needed to figure out a way to keep her fed. I thought the food slots in this feeder were very small but due to the positive reviews, I decided to risk it. This device is great. Food slots are the perfect size and I love the options to select how often and how much to feed. You will need to simultaneously hold the up/ down arrows to select the days to feed.
