I tried everything. I must have drained my pond 10 times. and one or 2 days later. it's back to being green. and murky. I've tried every chemical known to man, with sub-par results. Even beach, the bleach would def kill the algae but it turned the water cloudy, and then after a few days boom! the water was back to being green and murks. if you look at my first picture. this was the day I added the filter to the pond, if you look closely, you can see that from the moment I place the pump in the water, and although the water was green and murky, the filter still pumping out crystal Clearwater if you notice the waterfall in the background it was pumping green water on day one. The other two Photos are from 3days later!!! and as you can see the water is clear. you can see down to the bottom again!!! while although, the bottom is covered in what I can only assume is dead algae I must admit this is still a really good solution!!!!! well worth the money ... show more

My 1800 gallon pond has biofalls and I seed the pond with beneficial bacteria often but when the air temps are above 90F, the clouds of green single-cell algae thrive, and water clarity suffers (ie visibility drops to one inch). So added this 900 with UV lamp as a additonal filter and aerator. Worked great. Within one week, pond clarity is crystal clear and visibility is all the way to the bottom. Was easy to set up and I like that the pump/filter is totally submersible in the pond (expect for the rain shower snorkel). In addition to filtraron, adds aeration to pond as well. The LED light at night is a nice feature. I wish there was as easy indicator to quickly show that the UV light is functioning. It is possible to check such, but takes a small amount of effort. Otherwise, it worked great for me and I highly recommend. See before and after photos. Suspended single cell green algae inn first photo. Can see to the bottom in second photo. Just ordered replacement UV bulbs for nexts years to come. ... show more

The fountain of water was a bit underwhelming and the pump power is insufficient to use the auxiliary fitting and still get a decent fountain spray. So far, it seems to be effective in keeping down the algae growth..

    • Inefficient and Underwhelming:

My experience with the Inpond 5 in 1 Pond & Water Pump, Filter, UV Clarifier has been marked by disappointment and frustration. Despite its promises of convenience and efficient pond maintenance, this product has failed to deliver on its claims, leaving me regretting my purchase. Right from the start, the installation process was far more complex than anticipated. The instructions provided were confusing and poorly illustrated, making it difficult to determine the correct setup. This resulted in unnecessary trial and error, which consumed valuable time and effort. As someone who expected a user-friendly solution, the convoluted installation process was a major letdown. The performance of the product has also fallen short of expectations. The water pump's capacity is abysmally inadequate, leaving my pond's water circulation subpar at best. Despite being marketed as suitable for ponds of a certain size, the pump struggled to maintain a consistent flow and failed to effectively filter the water. The result was murky and stagnant water that was far from the clean and inviting environment I had envisioned. The UV clarifier, which was meant to control algae growth, proved to be equally ineffective. Despite running the clarifier for an extended period, the algae problem in my pond persisted. This left me questioning the potency of the UV technology used and doubting the product's ability to address common pond issues. The overall build quality of the product was also disappointing. The materials used felt flimsy and cheap, and the components lacked the sturdiness required for outdoor use. The UV clarifier's casing, in particular, showed signs of wear and weathering within a short period, raising concerns about its durability over time. Additionally, the promised convenience of the 5-in-1 functionality was overshadowed by the lack of effectiveness in each aspect. The product's inability to perform its core functions has made it feel like a bundle of subpar components rather than a comprehensive solution for pond maintenance. In conclusion, my experience with the Inpond 5 in 1 Pond & Water Pump, Filter, UV Clarifier has been overwhelmingly negative. Small pond and this is about my 5th filter in 12 years, I like it the best. Ease of cleaning with the handle and the turtles can't knock it over with it's heavy base. The fountain feature is also stable. Other filters faltered in all of those areas.

I have tried many pond filters and waterfalls, but this brand always works best for my 550 gallon outdoor pond. I like that the product includes different types of fountain heads, and they are easy to assemble and to switch out for a different fountain flow.
