  • Pendleton vs Hudson Bay blankets
Size: Queen Color: Navy
I have several of the Pendleton National Park blankets and love them. I had always heard that the Hudson Bay blankets were the top of the line when it came to wool blankets. Looking online, I couldn't find any significant comparison of the two other than people saying, "Hudson Bay is better" or "Pendleton is better". So, I decided to create this review with photo comparisons so potential buyers can see the difference. When you're contemplating spending hundreds of dollars on a blanket, it's helpful to know the pros and cons of each. So, here are some observations: *The Hudson Bay blanket is definitely thicker and "fluffier". If you are looking for a utilitarian blanket for ultimate warmth, I would say go with the Hudson. *The Pendleton blanket has a tighter weave, is denser, and has finished edges on all sides. It looks more refined. *In my opinion, the Pendleton has a softer hand. I found the Hudson Bay scratchy. *If you are thinking of longevity or the heirloom quality, I think the Pendleton would age better due to the tighter weave and finished edges. The Hudson Bay blanket arrived with loose fibers at the edges. How will it look after 10 or 20 years? *Due to the tighter weave of the Pendleton, it seems to pill less and transfer less "fuzzies" to other bedding/clothing. *The Pendleton is more affordable. The high price of the Hudson seems to be primarily due to the name brand. See my photos for comparison. I hope this review helps you purchase a blanket you will love. ... show more

  • A gift well received
I grew up with heavy all wool blankets like this one and bragged to my wife how fantastic they were. Unfortunately when we were young and building our lives the cost of such a fantastic blanket just seemed unreasonable. Now that we are older and divorced, I wanted to give her a gift that brought me such fond memories. It was graciously appreciated. Now she can share the comfort and warmth that I can no longer share with her. ... show more

  • The perfect wool blanket, buy one.
Size: Queen Color: Navy
This is a high quality wool blanket and should last for many years if taken care of properly. Dry clean only and shake it every day when you make your bed and brush it occasionally with a boar hair brush. The colors are vivid and it lays beautifully on my king bed. I bought the queen size and it hangs perfectly to my liking on each side. The 2 things you should always buy the best that you can afford are bedding and shoes because that’s where you spend most of your life. Feather bed on top of a mattress, linen sheets, wool blanket and linen covered duvet. A perfect nights rest. ... show more

  • Nobody thought to remove security tag
Size: Queen Color: Grand Canyon Navy
Blanket is really nice quality, soft wool, great colors. But why is there a security tag on it?? Is it stolen? How can I remove this? Very unhappy customer.

  • Warmth and nostalgia
Size: Twin Color: White
My 93 year old Dad, who was brought up in Michigan, really has an affinity for this design. He bought me a throw for Christmas but I did not like the pattern or the fabris. So that was returned and I bought him a larger one that he uses on his bed. He loves the weight and warmth. It is a wool blanket that feels like wool. So if you are like me and love plush things, this is not for you. It is great quality and worth the price. It will last forever. ... show more

  • A Blanket crafted the old fashioned way
Size: Queen Color: Acadia Black
So the box came and I didn't know what it was as I had two deliveries due. It was heavier than I expected which means it is made well with a good knap. This is a Camping Blanket - I got it to put on a woven Hammock. The quality is superb, like Filson. It is heavy, softer than a Horse Blanket but more durable than any of the Hidson Bay Blankets I have had. Value for money is 100% and reminded me of an old Picnic Blanket we had when I was a Child in the 1950s. The company is an old family business probably originally from Pendle in Lancashire. Even though I come from Yorkshire Stock I can't recommend it highly enough. Smell - very little, perhaps some Lanolin but too faint to notice. This is one of the best products I have purchased. ... show more

  • Whuuuuuut?
Size: Full Color: Gold
Yep, I have to agree with the rest...This. thing. rocks. I have never owned a 100% wool, wool blanket. I had some wool pants once as a kid that my parents made me wear to church here in the South...in the summer, and they drove me NUTS! Never trusted wool not to be scratchy/itchy again. I decided to give it another try in my late 20s and got a 70/30 blend figuring the blended whatever would make it better...Nope. Not even sure what made me buy this one as I was sure it would be awful against the skin. I was blown away when I received this and gave it the back of the hand test and it felt great, but the the ultimate test was using it as a blanket. Extremely warm without being too heavy and no scratching/itching feeling at all. I love it. ... show more

  • Expensive yes, but so many benefits that keep on giving after the price is forgotten.
Size: Full Color: Navy
This blanket arrived quickly and I was surprised at how soft it felt, but that’s merino I guess! The little cabin is at 4,000 ft elevation, and the weather can be savage, so I wanted a blanket that has proven warmth and durability; the Pendleton has that and more. I know this blanket will outlast me, and I’m happy it won’t be harming the environment like the petrochemical fibres we’ve been used to. Also, my dollars stay in America and provide for American jobs. A great product to enjoy now and into the future. ... show more
