*This is review is by Niall* After having a frustrating time with my last dash cam due to phone connectivity issues, I was looking for something easier, a plug in and record device as opposed to trying to connect it to a phone first. Searching, browsing and even more browsing and with so many other dash cams on the market, we're certainly spoiled for choice. Until I saw the Pelsee P10 Pro 10" 4K Mirror Dash Cam. A simple plug in and play set up. Exactly what I wanted. But not only that, they have safety systems built in, which I was impressed with and hadn't seen it on any others..at this Pelsee price too that is. Affordable but not breaking the bank. These safety systems were for Advanced Driver Assistance System and Blind Spot Detection. After installing it over the rear view mirror, the rear dash cam is certainly sturdy and not going anywhere. The straight forward setup up of settings, correcting the time, turning the safety systems on or off and calibrating the sensitivity of it. A breeze to do. Having now used it for a solid month I certainly do feel so much safer behind the wheel knowing if ever I'm in an accident, the Pelsee rear view dash cam has me covered at the front and the rear. It detects people and other cars swiftly, with beeps letting me know if there's a car coming up behind me left or right. With brilliant 4k resolution on both cameras BUT drops slightly to 2.5K at the rear cam if the safety features are on. Don't worry, that's still fantastic clarity to view the footage in. I did have queries though, I didn't like the fact that it automatically started recording as soon as the dash cam turned on, I felt it was wasting footage before I even set off driving so I asked if there would be an update in the future for disabling that or have a setting where it would start recording when the car is then in motion. Query 2 was that on the split screen for front and rear, would it be possible to switch the rear view to the left and the front on the right, I felt it'd be easier for my eyes to quickly see behind if it was closer to me. That may have been a more personal note I had but I was assured by Helen in support that it'd be something they'd look into. So yes, they are taking notes of any issues we have to then maybe update them in the future. I did however run into an issue viewing the files on a desktop. The third party app for viewing it wasn't wholly compatible. An email to the ever helpful support of Helen guided me in the right direction. Apparently I had to slightly change each file name on the front and rear video files then I was able to view both video displays simultaneously. Happy days. Another hiccup I discovered was that when it's raining, the rear lens gets quite fogged up and misty making it a little difficult to see behind. It's just a big blur of lights behind you with no outline of cars. I'd suggest to maybe invest in a lens protector for that rear camera..or a camera shield. Maybe something Pelsee could include in future packages? With this unknown to me brand, originally, I wasn't sure about buying but after other stellar reviews, now knowing it's a quality product and well designed and researched, easy to set up and absolute reassurance that Pelsee has me covered when out driving, I'm delighted I purchased this rear view dash cam. ... show more

Note: this review is for the Pelsee P12 Pro, not the Pelsee P12 Pro MAX. The 'Max' version is about $100 more but has the ability to view/download recordings to your phone. (Although you CAN view recordings ON THE screen...My non-Max unit requires you to pull out the SIM card and view recordings on a device if you need to share them. To some that will be important. To me, I only intend to share recordings of incidences as needed. For me, not worth the extra $100. My wife had a vehicle stop in the middle of the road in front of her. She stopped about two car lengths back but before she could turn her wheel and go around them, they reversed back into her! Fortunately, the driver and his passengers admitted fault. My wife, who was alone, could have very well been blamed because it looked like she had rear ended them. This brush with a potential he-said she-said made be get this camera for her car and now, mine also! If you're shopping for these, you can see how many there are to choose from. I preferred this one because I didn't like how most others were a separate piece of equipment mounted next to your mirror. You barely know this one is even there. It records continuous front and back while I leave the screen on 'rear view' like a regular mirror. I did not activate the gps or 'smart-driving assistance' as these are already present in my vehicles. Now, pros and cons, starting with pros:; -----The rear field of view was a nice surprise. The rear camera picks up vehicles passing me on the side all the way up to when I see them in my peripheral vision. Wasn't expecting that. I rarely need my side mirrors at all. Very nice. -----The recording qualities are very good. The rear camera is less quality but still very good. Some have complained about night glare, but I don't see it as a concern. (The screen is either a camera view, or, when you turn the screen off, it acts as a regular mirror. When you do that at night, the glare is still there so, I don't quite understand the complaints. And yes, it records BOTH cams even when screen is turned to mirror mode. I checked) -----I have a 'home-link' system on my original mirror with the buttons on the bottom that work my garage doors. These are still accessible and usable with the system mounted on my original mirror. -----You can turn 'off' the voice recording and it will stay off. You don't have to keep turning it off every time. Cons: -----I left off a star on the screen rating because it is a little slow to the touch. I suppose it is not the quality of a phone screen but what do you expect for a hundred bucks? -----Navigating the set up was a little tricky as directions are not the best and obviously written for different models with different menus, but, it's not that bad and anyone proficient at working their phone will figure it out. -----Sunny Texas days make the reflection from the rear window do a 'double-image' (One of what the rear camera sees and one of what the reflection is.). Slightly irritating but not that bad. -----Objects in rear-camera view are closer than you think! That took a little getting used to but, the alternative is to go to reflection-mode. Then, you lose the peripheral advantage of the rear camera. You get used to it quickly, so, not that bad of a con. I definitely recommend. ... show more

The cameras are fantastic. Extreme night visibility with the dash cam, and great with the backup cam. The system is intuitive and has lots of extra features that are handy for my truck. The only reason this doesn't get 5 stars is because the hardwiring kit they sell (incase you don't want to use your cigarette outlet) is actual garbage. The ACC indicator always reads power. I wasted so much time wondering how the hell every single breaker could be powered while the vehicle is off. Fuel pump, air bags, break lights... After some testing it turns out their sensor is crap. So using their hardware will drain your battery since the power sensor doesn't work. Buy a different kit. Besides that, the dash cam is crazy good. ... show more
