The Pellethead Ash Vac works very well. It has strong suction, is lightweight, rolls around easily, and is well filtered. It keeps the ash dust and smell very well contained in its stainless steel drum. It is small enough to store inside the closet next to my upright where it is within handy reach for cleaning out our pellet insert. The metal lined hose is long as well as the electrical cord for the size of this machine. The tools all store on the wheel frame for convenience. Interestingly, the first two times of use it turned itself off automatically after running for about 3 minutes. I've used it maybe five times since and each time it ran continuously until I shut it off so maybe those were just first time use quirks. It comes with a five year limited warranty. So far I think this is worth the money especially if it lasts at least five years. ... show more

I've only used a few times but so far so good. It's got a long cord and a robust hose. The attachments are ok. It would be nice if the narrow one was metal instead of plastic and the bristles of the brush could be stiffer but those are just my preferences, what it comes with are certainly sufficient. The filters seem to work well. It has good suction. The motor definitely runs hot so I don't think I'd want to run it for any extended period but since it's just to pick up ash it probably would never run that long anyway. It's fairly light and easy to move around and dump. I haven't found any reason the Pellet Head ash vacuum isn't a perfectly reasonable purchase. ... show more

I bought first vacuum and while it was strong and cleaning my smoker well, it died after 5 minutes. I replaced it and the same happened. Both times the vacuum just shot down and would not turn on again. I went to another store and bought small shopvac. It not only worked just as well but it did not break. It would be great to have all the thin attachment with the shopvac that came with the pellethead. ... show more

I bought this to clean the ashes from my new pellet smoker. I like it so far. The cord is a perfect length. Suction is powerful yet the machine is not too loud. It cleans very easily. I had been using a small shop vac but the paper filter got clogged and it was messy. This is a wonderful improvement. Double filter works. And I cleaned the filter with a garden hose and that worked great. The steel canister lets you suck up hot items without too much worry. (need to empty right after). Even though the hose is plastic, the coals don't stay long enough to burn the plastic. I use on my fire place so I need to gather the large pieces first. We got this to tidy up around our fireplace insert and occasionally clean out the inside, and it's the perfect size. Can generate a LARGE static shock when in use! Don't bother using a shop vacuum for cleaning your pellet stove! This ash pellet vacuum is AWESOME for ASHES!!! Not too heavy and easy to clean! The dual filters combined with the suction instantly remove ash from the pellet stove. In the winter months, (October- April), on a daily basis, I remove the ash pot and clean the ash fallen off to the sides of it. I have owned this cleaner for a year now. I have yet to empty the tank and the filters are intact from day one of purchase. This was a phenominal purchase on my part, I must say! To the manufacturer, I would recommend a convertible, small attachment that would allow reaching inside above the door of my stove (PelPro 130) to access those hard to reach places when doing a total maintenance on the stove.
