  • Great to air travel with
This was a great buy. FYI… be prepared to receive it in the area of the baggage claim where over sized bags go. You will be the last one at the normal baggage claim location for your flight wondering where your bag is.

  • Very stout travel case
Very sturdily built - good size.

  • Terrible Pelican Customer Service
Pelican's customer service was incredibly poor. After going through the system on their website and including the above photo, I was told that this defect was in no way possible related to their manufacturing. I rebutted by telling them that the case was never taken out of my house after its arrival and had only been packed once and weighed on a home scale. This crack on the inferior aspect of the case then occurred near the wheel. At no point was the case mishandled or stressed. It was not until I requested further evaluation by their management that I had any positive response for appeal. Luckily, I also explored return options with Amazon, and their customer service team heard my story and issued a full refund including tax. They also waived the restocking fee. All I had to do was ship the broken item back to them. Beware Pelican customer service. ... show more

  • Great case but not worth the money compared to cheaper brands
It's a great case but I only gave 3 stars because the price is ridiculous compared to off brands of the same quality. The telescopic handle seems pretty flimsy hasn't broke yet but it's a concern for the longevity of the case. The case isn't very deep as well, so it won't hold as much as you might expect. Like I said it's a great case but I will go with a cheaper brand next time I can get a better or simply bigger case for the same price with other brands ... show more

  • Shipped Broken
When we received this pelican case the entire bottom corner and wheel was broken. The box had very little damage. We returned the item.

  • Save Money
This comes with $2 dividers and $10 TSA locks. Save $100 and buy the 1615 Air. I promise you are not getting worth the extra money. The dividers are made of the thinnist material possible and will not withstand packing them.

  • I dare baggage handlers to destroy this suitcase
I travel 30-40 times per year and I usually check a bag with the airlines. If I get 6 months out of a checked bag before the airlines have destroyed it through rough handling, I am lucky. My MO for years was to buy a cheap roller bag every 6 months or so. I decided to see if I could buy a bag that the airlines could not destroy. The bag is sturdy and not too heavy. On my first one week trip, it weighed on at 50lbs fully packed. It has sturdy locks and rugged wheels. It is not a spinner, which is fine. Spinner wheels are doomed to damage because they stick out too far. Lid organizer is nice, the interior is not lined or padded, so I have gone to using packing cubes to contain items. Because it is a hard shell, there is no overpacking or expanding. The bag is nice and large but not too thick. Fits nicely in my sedan trunk. It is not a cheap bag, but if it lasts 4 years or more it will be a good investment. ... show more

  • Ya, it’s heavy duty!
Even though I purchased this as a gift, I open the carton just to be sure it’s the correct item. Yes, exactly as needed for airline luggage. Has built in tsa locks and also has the holes to use your own tsa lock. It is foam padded, has the mesh zipper pouches built into the lid and there was an additional pouch loose inside. This is very sturdy, crush proof and baggage handler proof. I did not check out the wheels or the extension handle. This suitcases will last for a few years if not longer. When my suitcase needs to be replaced, I am pretty sure I will get a Pelican air travel suitcase. ... show more
