Front tires are a little hard to install. A helper comes in handy to lift the handle bar while standing over the battery pack. Make sure you line up the brake pads with the disc during the installation, it’s hard to see as the pads kind of float at first. Everything else is easy. Scan the barcode in the instruction manual for a decent video. Note that the front forks sit on the bolt which seems weird. Brakes will sound like they’re scraping at first but don’t worry it goes away after a few miles. The tires are crap, the standard tubes leak constantly. Replace with solid core, which is hard but worth it. The bike runs great after installation is complete. The battery lasts for multiple trips with a handy heads up screen that displays battery power, speed, and odometer including average. PAS (power assist system on five will hit 24 mph adjustable in the left mounted key pad. Power on and off by holding the center button. Lights and horn buttons are clickable on the left handle bar under the key pad. Horn will have you looking for a coyote with an ACME rocket. The accelerator gets some getting used too as the throttle band is a section on the right, not a full twist grip. Rear brake light flashes during braking, and stay on when the lights are on. Seat is comfortable, and there are mounting points for baskets etc. You can pedal for exercise or watch people look as you coast up hill without pedaling :) ... show more

Assembly went smoothly using included tools, instruction manual and video link provided. The battery was fully charged on arrival and ready to ride after assembly was completed. It rides smoothly, brakes and lights function as needed. I only have 2 concerns that do not really impact the quality of the bike. The key provided is only to take the battery on and off. There is no key to turn the bike on and off- so it’s always ready for anyone to turn on if the battery is on the bike. My other concern is cosmetic; when I ordered from Amazon the name of the bike was Velectric but the bike I received was Vefredom… and it’s now listed on Amazon as Vefreedom. It will probably only bother me that freedom is misspelled on my bike ... show more

I recently purchased this bike and overall, I'm very pleased with my purchase. The bike performs exceptionally well on the road, providing a smooth and enjoyable ride. One of the standout features for me is its weight; it's lighter than other e-bikes I've had, making it easier to handle. However, I must mention that assembling the bike was a bit challenging. Although 70% of the bike is already put together, the remaining 30% requires some experience and patience. The instructions provided aren't very clear, so if you're not familiar with bike assembly, you might find it a bit tricky. Performance-wise, I took the bike downhill and was impressed with the speed, reaching up to 35 mph. It handled the descent very well. However, I did notice that the brakes need to be tightened as they don't stop on a dime. This is something you'll want to address before taking it out for a serious ride. Despite the minor issues with assembly and brake adjustment, I believe this bike is a great purchase. It offers excellent road performance and is a good investment for anyone looking for a reliable and lightweight e-bikes. ... show more

Decent bike and good features given the low cost. Overall a good riding experience. The motor is quite powerful. Bike shows approx. 33% higher speed and distance driven than actual. To fix, go to settings and change wheel diameter from 26" to 20". All values below are based on this change. With that, the shown driving distance is still about 8% higher compared to GPS-derived values from a smartphone app. Maximum speed on even road on electric only (throttle or PAS without using muscle power) is approx. 19mph, bike maximum speed may be throttled. This is significantly below the 25+mph stated in the Amazon description. The bike accelerates quite quickly to these speeds based on the selected PAS setting (5 levels): Level 1: 9mph Level 2: 11mph Level 3: 13mph Level 4: 15.5mph Level 5: 18-19mph To accelerate more slowly to desired speed, do not use pedals but gently/slowly turn the throttle. Constant uphill speed on electric only without using muscle power is approx. 11-13mph depending on incline and load weight. I estimate the range on electric only at about 25-30 miles depending on terrain. When pedaling along this likely increases by 50-75% or so. The stated 70 miles range is based on the incorrect default distance measurement which measures about 33% more distance than GPS. When adjusting that as stated above by lowering wheel diameter in the settings to 20", you get 70 miles minus 33% = just over 50 miles, which you can probably get if you use a reasonable amount of muscle power while riding. The bike's display / computer has programmable settings (google "yl81f display manual"), but you can only really adjust wheel diameter and a few other things, changing settings to customize the riding experience such as PAS levels won't do anything. ... show more
