I was surprised to learn how hard it was to find a set of string lights that would wire directly into my existing 12V system. These lights are great so far: simple and subtle but they add a wonderful effect to the backyard. Would definitely recommend or purchase again!

Ok so based on my title you would think I was unhappy. The lighting elements do not match exactly but apparently because I know that I am the only one who notices. They are not bright white, more of a soft white to yellow. Which is what I wanted. So far I am happy with my purchase. The only advice I would give would be to order multiple strings at once so they match. On a side note the lights are easily connected in series which is nice. ... show more

Was looking for some durable string lights that ran on 12V to carry camping with us. These seem to fit the bill perfectly. I am going to modify the plug so I can run the lights on a 12v power source and add a waterproof switch.

With these low voltage string lights you can either connect them to an outlet as they come or clip the end of the string and connect to other landscaping lights powered by a controller box. I bought 6 strands and tied them into the rest of my landscaping lights and they look great. No extension cords running around to power the strings. We couldn’t be happier. ... show more

We bought one set of these for camping and enjoy them more than expected!! The kids love the music/voice control setting, as well as choosing different colors or patterns each night. I purchased a second set, after our first camping trip, and I was so glad I did!! The second set connects easily to the original set by removing one sensor and plug, which is simple, and removing the cap on the end of the other strand. That way, one remote will control the entire strand of lights, and the colors and patterns work together, like one large strand!! During our second trip, a major thunderstorm developed (torrential rain with flooding, high winds, possible large hail, and possible tornadoes), and I even left the campsite, because of it, which I rarely do. When I returned, I discovered the lights were still working great, so they are definitely weatherproof and durable!!! I purchased a timer, so they turn on and off automatically each night. When they turn back on, they go to the last setting (color/pattern), when the lights were turned off, which is great! The brightness is perfect for our needs, and I could see the pretty lights shining through the trees, when I was walking along the road, after dark. I received many compliments from other campers in the area, too. Some colors are brighter than others, and they did light up our entire campsite, which was large, but the individual bulbs aren’t as bright as lanterns, in case that’s what you are needing. (Be sure to increase the brightness, in case the setting was low.) I bought tree hooks to hang the lights, since we use them for camping, and it was so easy to set up and take down the lights, using the hooks!! The strand has loops on the top of each bulb, so you can hang them easily on hooks or nails. Each set comes with a remote and an extra bulb. Batteries are not included for the remote. There isn’t a way to change the light settings without the remote, but the sensor does remember the last setting, in case the remote is misplaced. Obviously, since I bought a second set, I highly recommend these! I bought a similar set, which I thought would be the same thing, but the quality wasn’t as nice as the Gana sets. ... show more

BE fully aware of what you are buying. These are NOT truly low voltage lights and will NOT work with your landscape lights. The input is 110 V which is then converted to 12 v by an inbuilt voltage step down plug (see photo). No big deal, I thought. I will cut the wires after the 110v plug and connect to my landscape low voltage transformer. Wrong !! The lights kept flickering no matter what option I choose on the remote. Then I thought the problem might be AC vs. DC. The lights probably need 12v DC, but the transformer was putting out 12v AC. So, I bought a 12v AC to 12v DC transformer on Amazon & connected it to the output from landscape transformer. Wrong again !! The flickering stopped, but I still can't get the lights to display 'Cool White' color that I was seeking in the first place. I am done. $ 60 down the drain and since I cut out the 110v plug on the lights in order to attempt to connect them to the landscape lightning, I can't return it either. ... show more
