I bought this heater for my 16 × 12 patio , which houses several cats and a opossum at times . It puts out a lot more heat than the Lasko I had been using and doesn't make hardly any noise, which the animals really appreciated. My oldest ferel cat was skeptical at first, but by the 2nd night, I came home to find her basking in the warmth right in front of the unit . I could feel the difference when I opened the kitchen door leading to the patio right away, the air wasn't as cold as normal and of course the closer you get to the unit the warmer it is, but my old girl " Emmie " wasn't giving up her spot , she absolutely loves it. It was super easy to put together, maybe all of 5 minutes. I haven't used the remote yet , so I can't comment on it, but I just ordered another unit because I was so impressed with it. ... show more

The top of the unit was not attached to the bottom piece, that houses the electronics. This makes the heater very unstable. Used it sparingly and carefully until it just stopped working, the heating element doesn’t get beyond just warm. It simply doesn’t work as advertised. You might already know this if you’re looking at the heater, but it does not heat the air – it heats you. This is very helpful for when it is windy, and the oscillating function is exceptionally helpful. Got this little heater for my outdoor cats who live on the porch, gives off a great deal of heat in a short amount of time…I found myself turning it down to a lower setting often!! Safe for cats, both of them brushed up against it without a reaction….If you wear reading glasses you will need to use the remote for the controls..the directions are printed at the bottom but you will need a magnifying glass to read it! Great heater however if you have children it's not acceptable! Update, after a month it stopped heating. Light is but heating element is broken
