I love to sit on my patio but in the cooler months in the midwest (St. Louis) even a fire pit sometimes doesn't put off enough heat - this does! It has 12 levels of heat and is amazing. It has a very heavy baseplate to prevent tipping. It stands very tall as well (I am 5'5" and it comes to my chest. I just received it so I haven't left it out in the elements but reviews and description shows ot can be left outside so you don't have to haul it in and out. The only thing I would change is for it to oscillate, but so far I absolutely love it! I feel like I could literally sit outside when it's snowing and still be comfortable! ... show more

This is a great heater with 12 heat levels. I got it for my inclosed patio. It works great. My patio isn't that big, its a medium sized, and it keeps it very toasty. We do keep a ceiling fan on to keep the air circulated because it isn't a really huge space and it does get pretty warm in there. If it was in a bigger space it would probably not need a fan as much,but it definitely works really well. It's a great heater. Well worth the money. ... show more

    • Gives Off Nice Heat
This unit is tall. I know it says 42" but I didn't realize just how tall it was. It is a good 15-18 inches taller than other average ceramic tower heaters, so just be aware of the height. Now, the height also provides for larger radiant area for the heat to come out. Infared heaters provide a good amount of heat radiating from the reflective back. I use these heaters to supplement my furnace here in New England when Jan-Feb 20 degrees is a warm day and 0 or -10 is common for a few weeks at a time. I generally prefer ceramic heaters, but I've had infared as well and they work wonderful too. Our bedroom is 15x12 with a 12' ceiling and this size heater will keep it above 64 all night all by itself with no help from the furnace no matter what the temperature is outside. If you are in a smaller room with 8' ceilings and a closed door, you will feel downright tropical. The cord is one of the heaviest duty cords I've seen on residential electric heaters. About 6' long. ETL approved, tip over protection and auto shut off. Has all the latest safety features. I like that. This is a really nice heater. It was about 50 last night in sept and it was a little chilly in the house so I plugged this in and it warmed things up nicely very quickly. Some things to be aware of. This is a tall unit as I said. Also, the steel body does get VERY hot. You cannot touch it and keep your hand there. It is hot. It is perfectly fine as long as you follow proper standard portable heater safety protocol and keep it at least 3' away from anything flammable. Also, make a consideration if you have small kids or pets as IMO it could cause a slight burn. Every other electric heater I have has a plastic outer skin that does not get hot and is safe around kids and pets. They likely do have a steel shield on the inside to keep the heat from making the outer skin hot. In this heater, they made the decision likely IMO to keep the unit thin, keep cost low, and as long as it is away from anything flammable and small kids and pets, it is perfectly fine. So to sum up. Perfectly fine heater. I should do the job very nicely when used properly. Infared gives off a good amount of heat and the tallness of the unit means a larger reflective surface to reflect heat into the room. Easy controls, timer, auto tip over shut off. Outside steel body gets very hot. Perfectly fine. Just be aware. For those reasons, this is not a 5 star heater, but it is also not a 3 star heater. This is a very good 4 Star heater. ... show more

With winter on the horizon I knew that the storage units would be rather cold. I decided to look into a portable heater and one that could be used either indoors or outdoors. This one looked like the best option for our needs. Now that I have this home and have had the opportunity to use this electric space heater, I can say that this one stands out over others with the timer function with a remote. *9 hour timer *Adjustable heating levels *Infrared technology *Rapid heat - begins working in under 3 seconds- this is definitely a great feature. *Remote control All in all, I find that this is one impressive portable heater.     • Great product, excelent customer service
This heater in on my patio, right behind our chairs and under our propane heater. We live in Montana, and have happy hour outside every day, even in winter (unless its below 10°f). We just had our first cool snap, and this kept us perfectly warm on setting #10 even without the propane heater above. The first one cam damaged in shipping ( a broken glass tube that surrounds the element), so I emailed the company and got a reply within 6 hours. All they asked for was the orderID and a picture of the damage. I sent that the next day, then within a week I had another on my doorstep. The heater was easy to assemble, has a remote control, a timer so that you can set it for how long to stay on (by the hour), and has 12 levels of heat. The base has a very heavy steel plate installed that keeps the center of gravity low to prevent tipping. We are going to enjoy this. ... show more

    • So much heat for the patio
This product provides lots of heat for my small patio. I had one of those huge stand up heaters but it would not fit under the patio. So, this one is perfect to go under the patio awning. It does not take up much room but provides an ample amount of heat to keep us warm on cold fall evenings. It was super easy to put together the base. It stands up nicely and I am not worried about it tipping over. I love the look and the new heater or the patio. ... show more
